Re: Bimini top

My '96 still has its original bimini (I think). It's color on top, white underneath...thick & strong. A year ago I bought a boot for it from PS and the material is nice but I wouldn't expect it to hold up like the original. I assume a new bimini would be made from this same material. Does anyone mak...

Re: Trolling Motor Battery Placement

Think of all the cars with those 12V "bombs" under the seat or in the trunk, including mine.
Don't worry about it.

Many helms have a couple of those snap-in round grates to eliminate moisture and for the horn sound to get out.

Re: Marine 31 Mildew

...Most over-the-counter marine mildew cleaners rely on heavy concentrations of bleach and other volatile chemicals that actually cause more harm than good. Marine 31 is one of the "most"--they never say there's no bleach in the product. RMR-86 is also. Plus some soap. I don't think anything out th...

Re: New Pontoon Boat Owner-has some foolish questions

I have a '96 18-foot Sweetwater with 40HP Johnson. I wanted to replace the harness because the PO chopped everything but the ignition portion during a re-deck. Rather than patch it together using diagrams & expensive marine-grade wire & waterproof connectors I bought a used harness off eBay that loo...

Re: New Carpet without Glue???

...I have "seagrass" carpet in my boat that's held down with snaps. Snaps are not hard to install so maybe it's the way to go. I like the sound of that but I haven't been to any dealers or boat shows to see what this looks like. What's beneath your fence rails if they're not bolted through the carp...

Re: Toon covers

Before spending $1400 on a custom playpen cover I would suggest looking up seller "canvasguy2077" on eBay--Andy. This is formerly American Canvas Products, Inc. that made OEM covers for several boat mfrs. for a couple decades. Andy can send you a diagram where you fill in all the important dimension...

Re: Bimini Top position while trailering

If you pull the pin on the rear arm will your bimini frame lay flat on the back fence? My Sweetwater does--but overhangs about a foot. The bimini might be dealer-installed so YMMV. For winter storage I disconnect the short rear strut & swing the frame over the front half of the boat. The wires at th...

Re: What to use of outboard quits

Sometimes the nearest shoreline is rubble, cliffs, snags, or swamp. You definitely want the ability to move & navigate some distance if the lake isn't fully developed flat shore.

Holly molly - - Wiskey Trip on that link - - I'd be surprised if skiers can even hear the engine over the music with all those speakers.
Wow...a rig like that would have a few holes under the waterline in the morning at my quiet lake.

Re: Heard of Easy Cover?

I really like the idea of not messing around with a mooring cover. My boat is at a cottage & sits on the water all season and is covered while I'm away. Every time I go to uncover it's soaked with dew and the seats are also soaked due to lack of ventilation. My previous 'toon didn't have nice seats ...
