Re: What's your winter project??
The cover is really convenient. Does a good job keeping boat clean. I have learned to set off a bug bomb and spray every few weeks to control spiders. Had spiders before so the spraying was routine. Neighbor has had one for a couple years and has held up well. Both of us spent some time at first get...

Re: What's your winter project??
Congrats on the lake house. Going to be full time our weekend/summer place? Nothing like living on the water. We had a weekend lake house and a place closer to work till 2018 when someone made an unsolicited offer on our other house. Felt was to good to pass up. Increased my drive to work to about a...

Re: Towing long distance precautions
Zero I know what you mean on burning gas on the 350. Don't think they are any different than any high HP outboard. I also wonder why Manitou does not offer a larger tank. Their twin engine boats have 90 gallon tanks and I would love that on mine. We like to run fairly long day trips and more fuel wo...

Re: Towing long distance precautions
Great looking boat. Glad the trip was safe and no big issues.
Glad you like the 350 Suzuki. We really like ours. Love the holeshot and handling.
Enjoy it!

Sounds like you have thoughts things through. Might ask dealer to inspect an replace beaings if needed. Suggest tie down straps on boat to attach to trail and a cheap infrared thermometer to check bearing temps at fuel stops. Good luck and be safe.

Re: 300 Yamaha or 350 Suzuki ..which would you choose and why?
Let us see some pics and how it performs. I think the boat will easily cruise at 30 with 6 on board. We have a 25 Legacy with tall windshield and arch so it's pretty heavy and 30 is no biggie with 6 passengers. I don' get near 60 but the SES is probably lighter than my boat. I don't think you could ...

Re: 300 Yamaha or 350 Suzuki ..which would you choose and why?
My suggestion is to run both if you can. You will see why i bought the Suzuki. The duo-prop has great stern lift and low end. Good match for a tritoon especially when have big load of folks on boat I have not ran a 300 Mercury but have heard good things. But don't think can out perform the duoprop.

Re: Old boat scars and memories
Wow. Great post.
Appreciate you sharing your wisdom about what is really important.
Seems like too many folks think that he who has the most toys when you did wins. Maybe the better thought is he whose toys have created the best memories for friends and family is the real winner.

Re: Has anyone gone from a high performance boat deep V to a pontoon?
Have done performance boats in past. Good friend had 35 and up Fountain, Hustled, Donzi, etc. Even had a 36 Nortec Cart. Wrenched on and ran them all. He traded boats a lot lol. Now i have a 25 Manitou with the 350 Suzuki which has duoprop. The holeshot is great and boat will run 50ish. We have a he...

Re: Best table / bar entertaining brand and model?
South Bay, Avalon, and Manitou all build boats with bars or entertained set ups. I have never tried pricing as they don't fit our needs. It does seem that those packages are towards upper end of manufacturers lines so does not surprise me $$ run up quick. I have had two South Bays and own a Manitou ...

Welcome. What part of Kentucky are you in and where do you boat?
We live on northern end of Lake Barkley and do spend most of our time there. Get over to Kentucky Lake some too.

We had a fatality on Kentucky Lake on Labor Day Weekend when a 22 year old girl stepped over rail of pontoon and fell into water. Will post link if can locate.
Not crazy about new regs but not sure I disagree with that one. Common sense ain't common enough.

Re: New to toons
We had two South Bays and were very happy with both. Figuring out exactly what we wanted with them. Could not get floor plan and windshield we wanted so ended up with different brand. But would have gladly gone South Bay again otherwise. Good luck and post what you decide. Watching others boat shop ...
