Re: Where do you fill her up with gas? Cans, station or marina?

Transfer pumps run 8 to 15 GPH. 3/8 hose is really going to cut down the flow, I would recommend using 3/4 inch fuel hose. Fuel hose has a ground wire running through it to reduce the risk of a static spark. Transfer pumps put out about 35 feet of head, about 15 pounds of pressure. You need to know ...

Re: Pontoon Boat Innovation

I wonder why they don't put on slideouts on the sofas like a camper, not for when you are underway but for more space when you get to where you will party.

Fishfinder for old guy

I bought 20' tritoon with a 115 merc and plan to fish some on Lake Norfork, 22k acres+ and up to 200' deep finger lake. I am trying to figure out what to buy for a fishfinder/GPS up to $500. Is this something I should buy on black Friday? Boat Show? Spring sales?or should I look for used from a loca...

Re: Transom rebuild questions. Nearing the end...

I found when I had the motor on the transom I could not drill the holes straight through so I started them, removed the motor and finished drilling them straight through. My plywood transom was about 1.5 inches thick.ĵ

Re: 1973 Kayot question

Mt old Kayot had stress cracks where he frame was welded to the toons on all four corners, about a dozen places. Had them welded by a good aluminum welder and had no more problems. Mine had pipe caps on each toon so it was easy to put in a shraeder valve for pressure testing...3psi MAX! Water could ...

Re: Another newbie issue - motor stalling

If my issue was fuel related, either dirty carbs or fuel lines, wouldn't it also run bad when in neutral? The motor would start fine and run smoothly until I attempted to put it into either forward or reverse. It seems like the big difference is I then have placed a load on the motor. Putting it in ...

Re: Troll motor

Placement can male a big difference, I had my 55 on the center front of a 24 ft and could get over 3 mph, when I moved it back to the back over the side, I could never get 2 mph.

Re: Water in pontoon

I had stress cracks where the brackets attached the deck to the toons on all 4 corners. took it to a welding shop and got it repaired. Until I did that I used a siphon hose with squeeze ball to siphon out the toons after each trip. I would raise the front end up so the water all drained to the back....

Re: Harris flotebote fuel tanls

I had an international truck with 50 gal tanks n each side. It just had a y in it. If you filled one tank it would slowly siphon to the lower tank. If you ran out you had to put some fuel in both tanks or it would just suck air out of the empty one.

Re: johnson 115hp slows down at full throttle

I would bet it is constriction fuel supply. Mine did the same thing ad I found a small piece of plastic (California this may cause cancer label from 2 stroke oil bottle) that was getting sucked up against the fuel inlet in the tank. I cleaned it all out then had the problem again...collapsed fuel li...

Re: Boat Barn Plans

Thanks for the advice, have a 50x60 here in Illinois but am trying to keep this one in scale with the house on a 3/4acre lot in a rural subdivision. I am thinking of a bumper pull trailer in the future and if I got a 5th wheel or motorhome I would probably put up another structure. Looking at 22foot...

Boat Barn Plans

I am working on plans for my barn at my new place between Bull Shoals and Lake Norfork. I do believe that every barn has 3 problems, too short, too narrow, and not tall enough. I have kind of decided that 40 feet is long enough. The pontoon I am looking at is 30 feet long so I could slip in my skids...

Re: Hitch weight on pontoon

I blew a rear trailer tire at about 70 at the top of an overpass...The adrenelan rush is unbelievable. with no tongue weight it fishtails very quickly and the only way to straighten it out is to accelerate then try to slow down again...I swerved through both lanes and finally got it stopped to chang...
