Re: Clean Pontoons

I use Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish. It's available at any auto parts store. The trick is to work a VERY small area at a time. It takes me at least 4 hours per side to do my 20 footers. You can use paint thinner to remove the black residue from polishing if you want to save some time. Believe me....

Re: New Carpet without Glue???

...I have "seagrass" carpet in my boat that's held down with snaps. Snaps are not hard to install so maybe it's the way to go. I like the sound of that but I haven't been to any dealers or boat shows to see what this looks like. What's beneath your fence rails if they're not bolted through the carp...

Re: New Carpet without Glue???

This may or may not be what you're looking for and not knowing what type of carpet you want to put down I can't say it's even possible, but I have "seagrass" carpet in my boat that's held down with snaps. Snaps are not hard to install so maybe it's the way to go.

Good Luck :thumbsup

Re: New pontoon boat on Squam lake

Welcome to the "Toon" life and to the forum from a fellow New Hampshire boater. I've never been on Squam, but I hear it's a beautiful lake. We, (along with a lot of forum members) also went the bow rider to pontoon route. You're going to love the extra room and the comfort compared to the bow rider....

I found this stock photo online. It appears to show what you're talking about, but I can't be sure.

Re: What have you done to make your boat special?

I know this is nothing unique, but our grill is our favorite part of our boat. There are quite of few boats on our lake that have grills, but I haven't seen any (for some strange reason) that have it permanently mounted on the rail like ours. I mount it in the spring and take it off in the fall. I b...

Re: Looking for replacement lights

I had this same problem last year with my 2014 Gemini. I ended up going to Bass Pro's parts dept and they looked through a huge catalog that they had and were able to match them up. However.......when I took them off to change them, the make and part number were on the inside. You might want to pull...

Every time I take someone new out on my boat I hear the same line: "Oh My God....this is so great!" :nana

Re: Who is watching fire works on the water on 4th?

Thankfully I live on a lake that I still feel safe on Holidays. I would hate to own a boat and not be able to use it on the Fourth of July. Our fireworks really sucked this year. They had some problems and they started late and ended early, but just being out there on a perfect weather night with fr...

Re: BATTERY QUESTION

I agree with Roland. I disconnect my battery in late October when I wrap the boat and I just leave it in there for the winter. I'm in New Hampshire. Along with our seasonably cold weather....this season we had a stretch of 3 weeks it barely got over 0. I connected the battery last weekend and the bo...

Re: Polishing toons, what am I doing wrong?

I use Mother's Aluminum Polish with an orbital buffer. I use just the top of the buffer and do a small area at a time while wiping off the black crap with paint thinner. It's quite a bit of work. I tried other polishes and I always come back to Mother's. Seems to work the best with the orbital buffe...
