I doubt the fuel will make more than 1 mph difference.

Re: You'll see my home lake on the news tonight

Thanks for posting that. I remember back in the late 80s when a submarine that I was serving on was in the shipyard in Vallejo. The crew spent a weekend up there on the lake and had a great time with several rental boats. The water level was a little low but I remember it was a beautiful lake.

Re: Attaching amplifier to rotomolded seat base & stereo install

Come up with some brackets (aluminum maybe) that are "L" shaped. Bolt the bottom of the "L" to the bottom of the seat base and the amp to the upright portion of the "L". No bolts going through the seat wall.

Re: Considering new toon

Loyd, I have the same hull but 24 feet and the 150 yamaha. I second everything Bamaman said. My wife and I love this boat! We just spent a week in a cabin on our local lake. I took the boat out a few times early in the morning before others got on the lake and the water looked like a mirror. The way...

Re: Reface or replace?

Personal experience? I know they are a forum sponsor but I'm hoping for some replies about quality. Do reupholsterers use better materials? Are the seats that pontoonstuff carries imported? Yes, personal experience with my old boat. I am pretty sure they make their own stuff and I doubt very much t...

Re: Need advice or help on 90hp Mercury

If this was a dry chemical extinguisher you should have rinsed it off as soon as possible so it doesn't destroy (corrode) every electrical thing it touches. When you say "inside the engine" I assume you mean under the cover. Just put some sandwich bags or something over the carb intake to keep water...

I just toss water on my seagrass to clean it. Nothing sticks and it does not pick. I love it.

Re: Sweetwater 24’ 150 HP Question
I'm assured the short shaft 150 HP will eliminate the cavitation issue.
If you had cavitation problems with a short shaft 115, why would a short shaft 150 solve that?? Sounds like you need a long shaft that is mounted and propped correctly. Those large diameter tubes have you sittin...

I agree. Strakes make a big difference.
I see 40mph by GPS with my 24 foot Bennington with the SPS with bimini open, full fuel, 2 people, and full cooler with my 150 Yamaha.

Re: Looking at a Bennington......Bought it!

I made a couple of modifications to the boat. The grill works great and it is sturdy enough to leave in place while running down the lake. I had to do a little trimming to get the slide in ladder to fit.
