Re: Where do you fill her up with gas? Cans, station or marina?

I gas up at the marina. We don't have a trailer, and I don't want to deal with hauling 5 gallon jugs down a bunch of stairs.

The marina I have always used is NON ethonol gas and has historically been the least expensive on our lake..... still quite a bit more than the local regular gas stations.

Re: Tired of doing 20 mph

We also have a Berkshire Tri Toon. Very Happy with it, and the Yamaha F200. Our model has the rear facing loungers on both sides, as most manufacturers offer one like that. Our model will take up to a 300, however, I did a fair amount of research to find what was the most bang for the buck, both fro...

Re: I need some awning/cover fabric...who has the widest width?

Sunbrella comes in 46" as well as 60" widths.

I've bought several times from these folks when I did my homemade skirt and needed material and all kinds of snaps, etc.

Re: Outfitting new tritoon

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new, pending boat !!! I prefer round fenders. I keep 4 on board and use 2 of them with Pontoon Rails Fender Adjusters that I bought online at Overton's as a 4 pack. You preset the length of line from each fender. The other 2 fenders I use and tie on to the f...

Re: How many of us are running a dual battery setup?

We factory ordered ours with the Dual Battery set up AND Switch. We also ordered the built in battery charger. I usually run the boat on one battery, then next time I start up, I run it on the other battery. That includes if we stop during the day somewhere, if I remember, I'll go and switch it over...

Re: Will acid washing pontoons leave a white finish?

I have had mine acid washed, and Sharkhided......

Definitely on the white side, NOT shiny. As stated above, you need to polish them. However, the whitish finish is clean, super clean. Gets rid of all the black, uneven splotchy look.

Re: best stuff to polish the toons out

Yes..... couldn't believe I did that the first day buffing. The rest of the time I had one on.

This was on my buddy's boat too....... as mine was Sharkhided about 2 years ago, I wanted to get the system down pat before going after mine next season..... LOL !!!

Re: best stuff to polish the toons out

After trying several methods of buffing my buddy's toons with a DA polisher, hand polishing, etc and getting mediocre results, I decided to go big! I used what the truckers use on the polished tankers, and their fuel tanks. I bought some AIRWAY buffing pads and rouge. Using a Makita variable speed b...

Re: let's talk under skinning

If I was at our lake place, I'd take some pics for you...... but I won't be back there until the end of Feb. The under skinning goes from tune, to tune with NO gaps inbetween. I do have a TRI TOON, so we have the port side pontoon log, then a curved " U shaped" piece of under skinning that butts rig...

Re: Pontoon Boat Innovation

Thanks Steve,

I got it directly from Berkshire. I had my dealer contact them and ask if I could get a piece and they said no problem. So I knew it was an exact match !!!!

Re: Pontoon Boat Innovation

Only innovation I'd love to see is toons that don't tarnish. Yes, I aware that some manufacturers put SharkHide on them, etc.... but I would hope for something more permanent to keep them from corroding and looking nasty. I like the many choices of deck layouts, although I chose a fairly common styl...

Re: Hello from Smith Lake AL

Congrats !!!!! Welcome to the forum, too. Is your dock FIXED in place, or is the entire thing a floating house.??? .... reason I ask, it looks like the "ramp" from the stairs to the deckhouse could be hinged on both ends....... just curious. I'm sure you'll get a ton of fun with the set of toys on h...

Re: let's talk under skinning

Having started my career in a Precision Sheet metal fabrication company, (many, many years ago), I'll throw in my 2 cents..... I would use 5052-H32 which is a half hard, readily available (common) alloy alum. It can be easily formed. Typically 6061 is used for heat treated applications like T4 or T6...
