Re: Difference between towing an 18 foot and a 20 foot pontoon boat

I tow a 24 ft Sweetwater with a 2016 gas powered Colorado 4x4 with no problems. And yes it does take a little time to learn to back a longer boat, but with practice not a problem.

Re: MinnKota Deckhand Anchor Winch?

The line shown is on the drum of the winch when purchased. It is 100 ft. of 800 lb. test nylon and is only 1/4 to 3/8 in diameter. A friend has one on his boat and with a 30 lb. mushroom it deploys easily and retrieves very well. Planning on getting one for my tri-toon soon. Back and arms hurt from ...

Re: 4C Innovations Pontoon Loader

I have them installed on my trailer and they definitely help with loading my tri-toon in the wind and waves. Did not purchase the locking mechanism and think it is not necessary. One of the best purchases I've made for the boat.

Trolling Motor Battery Placement

I am in the process of installing a Minn Kota Ulterra 80#, 24 volt with 60" shaft, Minn Kota 5 amp dual bank charger, and 2 size 27 marine batteries. I know some people install the batteries under the helm. Have read some info that suggests it is not wise to charge batteries in an enclosed space. Is...

Re: 1st Boat Questions

Last weekend saw the following on the access road to our community launch. Person launched their boat, battery was dead, so put it back on the trailer incorrectly. They had in strapped on the front only, and evidently did not get it on the bunk. 1739.jpeg 1736.jpeg My whole reason for post is if you...

Re: Smelly Dog

After my dog got skunked in the back yard, I tried the previously mentioned bath in tomato juice. Did not make a difference at all. The next morning took her to PetCo and they performed deskunking, an actual service. They utilized "Natures Miracle Skunk Odor Remover". It actually works. We purchased...

Re: Trailer Tires

Just ordered 4 of the same for my trailer. Should be here in a couple of weeks. Actually picked my tritoon up after de-winterizing today. If the wind dies down this weekend may try to put her in the lake for a short cruise. Can't wait for warmer weather.

Re: New Boat Garage

Spent last weekend installing a Pwr-Arm II bimini. What a great addition to the boat. Purchased from PontoonStuff. Ordered on Sunday, arrived on Wednesday. What great service. Fall has definitely arrived in Virginia, but still lots of time for cruising and the crappie fishing should start picking up...

Re: New Boat Garage

No I can't put a drain in now, but I don't plan on washing boat or toys in the garage. Have a nice big gravel driveway for that. Since I'm 1 1/2 miles from the ramp, boat has a chance to dry before putting it away. County code also required a 2" drop per 10 feet, so have 4" drop each way from the ce...

Re: New Boat Garage

Finally done. Went ahead and had three Liftmaster 8500 torsion bar openers installed. They are real nice and quiet.
Might have to go back to work to finish paying it off.

Re: New Boat Garage

Tyvek is a requirement in our county. Builder said he doesn't understand. It is just something to make more money for suppliers.
Extra $150/roll and needed several rolls.

Re: New Boat Garage

All three doors are 10 x 12. Looking at putting power bimini on to make it even easier to boat. A couple of bridges are so low
have to put bimini fully down to go under. Would be nice to just push a button.

Re: New Boat Garage

Garage is finally finished except for openers. Mistake by door installers not getting the openers. Other than that is all ready for tritoon, jetski, etc. Turned out great. Now if I can find time to boat on the lake. :nana

Re: New Boat Garage

Everything complete except for garage doors, openers and electric. Doors should be here next week and electrician is working up the bid. Next I need to put a power bimini on the tritoon and going to the lake will be easy.
