Re: New here and new adventure...

Any good sites to look up to find the information on my HIN? I've got it and looks to be a Godfrey built in 1987. Overall, shape isn't too bad for being a water bound pontoon for many years. Got it out of the water and will be pressure spraying and cleaning up the toons first and taking a look at t...

Re: Voyager rebuild

Slow progress, but progress nonetheless... I think this winter I will either replace the tin on the fence or send it to my buddy that owns a body shop and have him repaint it. We replaced the tin on our fence ourselves. Took our time and were very meticulous. It turned out quite good. The key was g...

Re: 1998 Sylvan Nexus Restoration

Sorry I'm late to the "reply party." Looking great so far. We just finished restoring ours. My wife and I did every bit of it together. Had a great time, and thanks to The Covid, we were done in 8 weeks.

I hope you have as much fun as we did! Keep the progress pics coming. :nana

Re: Flags?

Like steve1313, mine mounts on the rail with 2 stainless screws. No issue. Mine is by Taylor Made. It has lasted 2+ years with no issue so far. I really like it. https://www.wayfair.com/Taylor-Made-Products--Flag-and-Flagpole-Set-921-922-L6136-K~TMPT1042.html?refid=GX99081610762-TMPT1042&device=c&pt...

Re: New here and new adventure...

Welcome! Great place for advice.

The 1st place to start might be the Hull Identification Number (HIN). There should be a small plate (usually) on the back of the starboard toon. You will have to have that for the registration anyway.

Re: It's on like Donkey Kong

Fun to watch your rebuild and hear about your domino effect. . . as one thing leads to another. Mine is the same way. I thought I'd polish the pontoons and suddenly found myself with dead boat parts all over the yard. I've never had so much fun in my life! It's good to hear you say you're having fu...

Re: It's on like Donkey Kong

Thanks for suggestion! Are you suggesting that I should change the wires leading to the engine remote wiring. Outside of those, there is the power wire coming to the console, and then light wires running to navigation/anchor lights, bilge pump, and speaker wires. and battery wire running to front f...

Re: It's on like Donkey Kong

Wow I ordered Friday and everything was rolling in Monday and Tuesday. Still working on ordering new fence metal. Hope it comes as fast. Don't know if you're replacing any/ all of your wiring or not, BUT I strongly recommend you consider doing it all and doing it now while it's easily exposed. Like...

Re: Let the fun begin!

Thanks, Craig. We took her out on Mother's Day - fitting day to launch a boat named after my mother! Had a great day. Everything went extremely well. I was just glad it didn't sink! A couple of small tweaks here and there and I will be happy. Mostly to do with how the cover fits having added bimini ...
