Re: New guy from N Idaho

When looking for a low cost pontoon, finding one with "good bones" is the answer! Carpet, seats, railing and helm are all DYI stuff that you can schedule to do. That looks like a great start. I often joke about my super expensive pontoon boat that came with a free lake house, because it was part of...

Re: 2005 Crest III Classic Restoration

Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on a great find! A good cleaning will go a long way. I love my 24’ because of the comfortable way it slides through the water - being on the Intercoastal Waterway, it can be choppy at the drop of a hat.

Good luck with the clean up and post pics!

Re: Tell tale not working while flushing

Though this is not article I originally read, this has good info...such as don’t run the motor when using the hose connection.

I hope this helps.

Re: Tell tale not working while flushing

I do not have muffs since I don't use them for flushing, just the integrated hose connection. That’s gonna be the reason. Someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to confirm, but I seem to remember reading that the hose connection flush does not create peeing. I will see if I can find where I...

Re: LIFE VEST

There was an accident involving 2 boats on our lake last week on Independence Day following the fireworks show. Sadly, a beautiful 26-year old female who was a passenger in a MasterCraft has not yet been found. The MasterCraft collided with a Harris pontoon at 10pm. The deceased girl’s boyfriend, t...

Re: Tell tale not working while flushing

My 75HP Mercury pees fully while flushing on muffs. I know you've checked it - but - I was concerned once because the rate seemed slack - found that my muffs weren't well-seated.

I have to agree with Marc and ROLAND - the 2 way conversations have asked and answered many of my own questions. I was also new to toon owning. The advice / information / opinions here have helped me tons... and saved me lots of $$. :bowdown :bowdown

Good answer. My wife picked up a couple of vests at a yard sale that were in new condition. Usually not hard to find.

All in all, looks like you had a good weekend!

We did Saturday and Sunday with some friends. Easy cruising and some water time. Great days with great friends - so blessed.

Re: Cleaning your outboard motor, under the cowl

Since you are SW operating like me, you can rinse the inside area with salt away, it won't hurt a thing. Also I use "corrosion X" annually and coat the power head, wiring , connectors everything, you'll never get corrosion anywhere on that powerhead Great! Thanks, FLOUNDERPOUNDER225! I didn't think...

Re: Cleaning your outboard motor, under the cowl

 This thread came at the perfect time. I noticed last weekend that there seemed to be a bit of build-up/gunk under the cowl of my Merc. Gonna try this clean up process asap. Being in saltwater I use SaltAway after every trip out to flush and protect. AGAIN this forum helps me learn. Thanks! :al...

Looks great. Especially the last pic that shows what matters most! If you and the family love it, nothing else matters.
