You are welcome, any luck with it?
Not yet on doing any work, but the manual is great. Swamped at work for the next several days, so it's weekend work only right now. By then, I expect I'll have that manual section memorized!

Thanks, again. :bowdown

Re: Rigging new motor questions

[/quote] Hahahah... yeah... well... I left the bimini up last night and it rained. It fills up with water ... Now... it's an old bimini. Has some mouse chews. Frame is slightly bent here and there. Works fine as a sun shade but apparently not good as an umbrella. So is that normal? I've never had a ...

Isn't that the manual relief valve right below the label (bottom center)?

Re: Restoring "Loretta Jane"

Do you not have a bleed valve you can loosen for manual operation? Do NOT be under motor when you loosen it, that shit be heavy YO' what year or model and SN of engine, we can look for diagrams or a manual. mine has a manual bleed, as well as manual electric controls on the side of engine (great fo...

Re: Rigging new motor questions

AAaaaand... of course I get everything reconnected and find that my nav light doesn't work. Meter... power check... yup.. got power... Take light off and disassemble. It's shot. Corroded and certainly not worth fixing. Ordered a new one on Amazon. It'll be here Tuesday. I'm glad to hear that I'm no...

Re: Restoring "Loretta Jane"

HOLY CARP I don't think you need a Multi-meter for that diagnosis :lol3 its-dead-jim-star-trek.jpg I know you're right, bansil. I guess what I am/ was hoping would be that it work just long enough to get it to the launch and on the trailer. You can see in the picture that under the motor I'm on the...

Re: Restoring "Loretta Jane"

What does a rubbed, broken steering cable look like? THIS! And of course, the next monster rears its ugly damn head. Geez! When it rains it pours. QUESTION for you mechanics -- Can I verify that the trim motor is dead by touching the leads at the motor with a voltmeter looking for power? Right now, ...

Re: Restoring "Loretta Jane"

Holy Crap! Trying to fix my broken steering cable, I couldn't get the cable to pull out for love or money. I just thought I was doing something wrong. I just thought it was because the steering cable was bundled with other wiring. But Noooooo! Toward the back of the boat the cable had been rubbed en...

Re: Rigging new motor questions

I cannot think of any reason why they would object to bundling the two together as long as the span of distance they will be together there is no movement created by the steering cable which might cause fatigue on the wire over time? I'll throw :2cents in on the bundling. Last weekend, my steering ...
