Henpecked - I just realized your mate was shooting at a range in your avatar. At first glance on a smaller screen I thought she was shooting into the freezer! :lol3 :rofl "Kill that damn ice cream!" :happy

Re: Exploring

What fun! Discovered a couple of marinas we didn’t know about. Ate lunch at a restaurant on the lake. Saw a bald eagle looking for something to eat. I’m not sure I ever stopped smiling. Les I have some cousins who live on Lake Martin. They went for a couple of years to vacation... loved it so much ...

They work fine, but I could use a stronger one on the bigger part, so thanks for the 40 pound info.
Rick - I think I went with a 60# shock on my larger section. I wanted that thing up and stable when climbing in the back. That's where my batteries and motor access are.

Re: Gas Shock for "changing room"

Just like Rick, mine were mostly corroded and gone. I decided on overkill. My dressing room curtain rail was a little "droopy" so I went with (I believe it was) a 40-45 lbs shock. I wanted it to really hold that curtail rail up high. I had to replace 5 or 6 shocks and had no concern about overkillin...

Re: New Pontoon Boat owner

Welcome to the club, egore! My toon is a 2003 and had hung on the lift in salt air for 15 years. The one thing I found the hard way (more than once) was that any terminal connectors are likely corroded. Battery terminals? Corroded. Starter terminals? Corroded. On and on. I recommend you consider a s...

Re: Marine 31 Mildew

Just ordered a bottle on AMAZON, we'll see how it does, my seats are great, just a few little tiny dots here and there which I've kept in check with Marine Spray 9, but my Gray Bimini is pretty bad, I want to see how this does on that. Reporting back on results: I was very impressed with the Marine...

Re: Marine 31 Mildew

It's the "lot of bleach" part that concerns me. I found plain bleach does an awesome, quick job of removing mildew & stains but I'm scared I'm shortening the life of my seats. I just sprayed it on, and never even had to touch anything with a brush or rag. Does it say in the instructions to spray on...

Re: Marine 31 Mildew

Hey, Rick. I also found the wonder of Marine 31. The toon had been on a lift, exposed to saltwater for 15 years. It really cleaned seats that were expected to be beyond saving. The only caution would be to be sure to fully rinse everything. Marine 31 has a lot of bleach! Bleach + upholstery thread =...

Re: pontoon boats and Florida inlets

If you're looking to buy, seriously consider a double bimini for Florida! Totally have to agree with Zoom650 on this. Was a sun-lover for many, many years. Buncha skin cancer removals and burn-&-peels later, I can't take the direct sun much anymore. If we didn't have double biminis, I wouldn't be a...

Re: Never knew what I was missing.

Totally have to agree with steve1313. We had a SeaDoo 150 Speedster jet boat, but it's made for 2 things: to go really fast, and to go faster. It's a lot of fun, but the chop in the Santa Rosa Sound can be pretty stout and a small-hull boat will roll around a good bit when trying to have a sandwich....
