Manual Relief Valve Questions - Help!

Replacing the trim motor and the manual relief valve. Having a problem with the relief valve -- Can't get it to screw all the way into the manifold. Of course, it's a flat screwdriver slot and nothing more. Couple of questions: A. What can be done to get it driven all the way in? B. What is the meta...

Re: Restoring "Loretta Jane"

Re: Bansil and MamaTurtle create a getaway cruiser

Up here in Buffalo NY, once the ice clears, there are kayakers everywhere, we have 110 decibel compact electric air horn mounted under the front deck, still don't get the move over after tooting at them. Having a 26 year old son with the same warped sense of humor as Dad and Amazon prime we now hav...

Re: Bansil and MamaTurtle create a getaway cruiser

You got that right! There are some DUMB people being allowed to roam around. We were with some friends on their toon Sunday, on different water, the number of boaters paying no attention to anyone around them was staggering. A million boats out and 999,999 stupid people. I hear you on the ladder! It...

Re: Restoring "Loretta Jane"

We live on the Santa Rosa Sound - the intercostal waterway. That beautiful emerald green water of the Gulf is 1.2 miles "across the street" from us. The Sound is not the most perfect water, but is enjoyable for boating. More chop and tide concerns than a lake. The large plus is (usually) the weather...

Re: Restoring "Loretta Jane"

FINALLY wet again yesterday afternoon! My buddy decided to check a few things before I got in from work. Pulled and wire brushed EVERY contact point on the motor. Posts were all showing 12.6v, but actual contact spades were corroded "just enough." Took a nice ride for an hour or so. DAMN that feels ...

Re: Wishing I had a boat lift

We use the exact same process as KPC. And are also done covering in 5 minutes (after clean up, etc). Will soon add a "generic" furniture cover for the console for days where I might choose to not cover fully overnight. Towel the dew off the seats and ready to go. (Clean and protect the seats before ...
