I agree with Teecro do not add anything between decking and cross members. The decking is integral to the stiffness of the boat. Isolating you engine from the passenger space will be more effective; engine box or sundeck. From my experience going through the air at much over 15-20 mph drowns out mos...

Good point Bansil. The cantilever effect is a consideration. And if the Yamaha 115 V4 (330 lbs) were going back on then a big consideration.
