Forward and reverse

Well I finally found a motor, picking it up in the morning. It's 2003 Mercury 115HP 4 stroke EFI engine 20” shaft. Stainless steel 14/14 prop and new impeller. I have a 2006 mercury 9.9 4 stroke, the dealer that is storing it for the owner was telling me that the wiring harness will fit but the cabl...

Re: Dumb question of the day

I guess this was really more of a rhetorical question with the sellers expectations. This is the third motor of I've called about that was already on a pellet and they couldn't understand why I wouldn't just buy it. I finally got 2 of them to agree to run them if I make the drive to look at them. Tr...

Dumb question of the day

Have any of you ever purchased and outboard motor without hearing it run. Sometimes you can get a read on people and see how they live and it gives you a pretty good opinion of how they take care of their stuff. This is a 2012 with approx 120hrs and he will take 5500... It's a merc 115, Would you ev...

Marine Parts Warehouse ?

I think I finally settled on a motor. Marine parts Warehouse has a rebuilt and new paint 01 merc 75hp 4 stroke, I think it should do what I need instead of 115, huge savings and 3 hrs closer. There is absolutely nothing around The Columbus, Ohio area. I've seen reviews on this place but anybody can ...

Re: Repowering

One of my other concerns was riding bow high with the weight of 115(apprx 360) plus the 9.9 kicker(apprx 80) lbs. The motors are from a marine that rents out about 30 boats and replaces motors every 2/3 years.

Re: Repower

I've done some reading on that, it sounds like a pain so I'll stay with Mercury. Thanks for the input on Blackbird, maybe I'll take a drive over there.

Repower

I am looking to repower my 2015 Lowe 214, looking for a Mercury 90 hp 4 stroke has a 9.9 right now, the previous owner lived on a limit lake. Thought I had found some decent deals at Blackbird motors until the reviews started. Has anyone had good/bad experience with them or know of a reputable place...
