Re: Hit a underwater boulder

Maybe someone could do a weld repair, perhaps a skeg guard or something is also available. Or maybe it didn't lose enough to need to be repaired?

or buy a new harness has almost all you need.. https://www.pontoonstuff.com/collections/pontoon-boat-consoles-electrical/products/pontoon-boat-wiring-harness During my rebuild I was going to fight all the old wiring and try to make it neat and workable. Finally said to Hell with it and ordered the ...

Re: Cross beam dimensions

Make sure it's structural aluminum not architectural aluminum. Architectural aluminum will have a sharp bend in the channel side profile that becomes a stress riser under load. Structural aluminum will have a small inside radius. Do a search you will see the difference. But that is correct... my re...

Re: Cross beam dimensions

When I re-did my deck, I replaced 4 of the beams where the plywood came together (they met in a channel originally and I didn't have the expertise -or maybe the patience is a better word- to router the edges so they fit in properly). I used 0.125" (1/8) c-channel and it's actually thicker than the r...

Re: Prop pitch

I'm thinking I may have to figure out something similar now that I've rebuilt my 'toon. I have only had it out once since the rebuild, and had very little time to test any WOT performance. The reason I'm thinking this is because the new layout has dramatically changed how it sits in the water. Previ...

Re: Modifying a 2007 G3 Suncatcher Cruise 20

Put a bimini top on today. It's well forward of where most biminis are installed but that was a necessity for our fishing needs. We've never had one before and are VERY much looking forward to a little shade relief on those blistering sunny days. Pictures never look as good as in person, and in the ...

Re: Optimal Charging Configuration

One of the things I was missing on my pontoon before I did the rebuild was an onboard charging system. I had to drag out multiple chargers and manually connect them each time I needed to charge the batts after a day out. Got really old really fast. I installed a separate Battery Tender in the seat b...

Thanks Kytoon.

It's a resort where not everyone brings a boat, so there's always a few open slips.

Re: Front pontoon trim replacement with built in lights?

I think these are cool but it seems you need to order them through a dealer (sounds expensive). I'm thinking of doing the same to get my lights out of the way too.

Backwards Bimini

I know this isn't a new concept, but I'd like your opinions. The only way I can put a bimini on mine that would get the arms out of my way for fishing would be to install it backwards. Is that just silly? I am sure it would look odd but it would be very nice to shade the benches... What do you folks...
