Re: The world is back to normal!
Hey Roland! Congrats to your friend to moving back to America. I'm sure he was very busy in NOLA what with the Saints and LSU, etc. Here he will be immersed in our two biggest sports teams, The UT Vols (men's football) and the UT Lady Vols (women's basketball). This town lives and breathes its Big O...

The world is back to normal!
The world is back to normal!!! The downtown Knoxville Boat Show was held this weekend. It was great to get into the convention center and see all the new models from some of the local dealers. Madisonville Marine, Norris Lake, and Bluewater were a few of the dealers. They had all new models from God...

I'm not a fundamentalist Mormon, or any kind of Mormon, so I only have the one wife. Whatever would I do with the other three kitchens?

Re: What's your winter project??
While researching my next get-away cottage, I decided to move up to Bansil's neck of the woods on Lake Watauga. Whaddyathink, would this make for a nice addition to my collection of pieds-a-terre? I'm sure I can scrap some spare change out of the junk drawer in the kitchen: https://www.zillow.com/ho...

Re: SouthEasat Lakes? Lanier?
Cool history link, Steiner. I Zillow'd the area - yeah. I haven't hit the lottery once, much less twice. I was looking for something in the six-digit area, lol. Maybe not so close to a nuke plant. Did that already when I lived within 10 mi of San Onofre.

SouthEasat Lakes? Lanier?
Ok, So, I'm on a lake that I really enjoy. It's about 15,000 acres and connects to a major multi-hundred mile river. I fear the eventual invasion of the Asian Carp which would ruin boating and devastate home values. Looking for an alternative for a future relocation plan. Looking for large (at least...

Re: How is boat availability in your area?
That dealer, IMG - Iguana Marie Group, in Osage Beach, is asking sticker-plus for those boats. They should be a solid 20K less than they are asking. Stupid pricing. When times get tough for them and they need business, I would NEVER go to that dealer due to their current gouging.

Re: MinnKota Deckhand Anchor Winch?
I got the Deckhand 40 installed and running beautifully. I used an ExtremeMax 35lb river anchor (Amazon link below). The anchor shackle did not fit through the anchor eyelet, so I looped the chain through the eyelet and secured the end of the chain to the chain itself using the supplied anchor shack...

MinnKota Deckhand Anchor Winch?
I was perusing the aisles of the local boat store when I saw an anchor winch. Apparently Minn Kota makes one called the Deckhand for up 40lb anchors. One version is especially made for pontoon boats. So, with vivid memories of dreading the back-wrenching activity of pulling up anchor stuck in a mudd...

Re: Lift cable protection
Maybe get some cheap PEX piping (red for hot water would work well) and split it lengthwise. Then "wrap" the lift cables with it. It should stay in place on the bunk itself (gravity) as the lift cable moves through it. Just thinking out loud here...
