Re: boat service cost

As for the dumb mass that charged $25 for air? I'd have told him to french kiss my fat ass on main street at noon time. That was a strange thing.. when I dropped the boat off for service I just mentioned to the guy that one of my trailer tires looked low and would they mind checking it before I cam...

Re: boat service cost

Roland, I'm new to the world of outboards, so I had a mobile service guy come out to do mine - and teach me at the same time. The shop that he works for, is about 25 minutes away. They charge $100/hr for their mobile service labor rate. Mobile service was important to me because I don’t trust my tr...

boat service cost

Hey folks, wanted to ask you all about the cost of having your outboard serviced before the season. I know that a lot of you do the service yourself, but some of you, like me, take it in and have it serviced.. I didn't have the work done at a boat dealership, but I did take it to a marine mechanic s...

Re: Family Guy (Peter) launching boat

man, I'll bet just about all of us has seen something like that at the boat launch. I never had a "terrible" time backing her down, but my first year I sure had a bitch of a time getting my boat back on the trailer.. I can remember on one of our first times out on the boat, it took me about 10 minut...

Re: Motor ID

I don't know if this will be of any help, but here's a couple of links to you tube videos talking about locating model and serial numbers for your ouotboard.. Hope it helps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHoVLd7cNTE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC2Oy8m2Sog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaHL-n...

Re: VIBRATION IN MOTOR

I don't think a little vibration is anything to worry about... I know my boat has just a little bit of vibration when I first bump it into gear.. i mean like barely moving.. as soon as I give it any throttle at all it smoothes out completely.. having said that vibration can be caused by a lot of thi...

Re: Add a battery

I've seen the Weego jump box in action and they seem to work great. Even though I have two batteries, I just ordered one for my boat just in case somebody on the water needs a jump. The Weego is about the size of an iPhone (but thicker), so it's really easy to store. And right now they're less than...

Re: Add a battery

can't help you with the addition of another battery, but if getting your outboard to start is a bit of an issue after a day on the lake, you could carry a jump box on your boat. I have a one battery set up and carry the jump and carry 660 ( JNC 660). So far I've never had to use it but it's always o...

Re: In memeory of Carl ( Cwag) Wagner, a good friend here and fine man. Take him home John Larson.

I am saddened to hear the news of Carl's death. I never got to meet him face to face, but a few years back I bought a part from him for my son's boat. We spoke on the phone a couple of times during that transaction and then would send private messages back and forth after that. Even though our inter...

Re: Old gas

I would think you will probably be okay, but if you can't get it out I sure would fill the tank with fresh fuel, and put some stabilizer in the tank just before you fill the tank with fresh gas. Someone said to use E10 fuel... I would suggest if you can find a station that has ethanol free fuel, you...
