Re: slide on bunk brackets
Maybe I am missing something in that picture as am curious how they slide on/off? Looks like the were slid on before they put the trailer together? Other than a grinder or blow torch, how are you going to get them off and get a new set back on? I must be missing something and hope you dont make me f...

Re: Docking camera
I would strongly consider a "fish-eye" camera/lens as it will give you a much better field of vision.

Re: Sun Tracker 18DLX Party Barge and Lake Lanier in GA
First, welcome to the forum! Since you asked, here are my thoughts. 1 - Set a budget (I assume you have already done that). 2 - Modify your use of the boat to match your budget. Busy weekends and the occasional unexpected bad weather on such a large body of water (like Lake Lanier) will not make you...

Re: Pontoon boat engine is ventilating / cavitating help!!!
I have had a couple of semi successful runs with only 2 people on board where i was able to throttle up at least 50 % before ventilating. Recently I had 4 people on board and the ventilating was terrible....we could barely get going before it would just rev up. The weird thing is that it seemed to ...

Re: Auto pilot on a pontoon ?
First, welcome to the forum. Question....Are you planning on using a GPS only for steering or combine it with radar? If combining with radar, can you get the dome up high enough for it to provide good coverage? I'm with Steve in that a toon is no different than any other boat. It floats, it steers, ...

Re: Anyone with experience with Free Standing Lifts/Canopies
i know they sell the side curtains that drop down seen some on other lakes just not sure what they will do in high winds will the beat the shit out of the boat? Most of the ones I have seen have the side curtains outside the support posts and have a pipe running through the bottom (parallel with th...

Ha ha...good for you. I'm going to try that the next time I sell a house - tell the realtor to try to get their fee from the buyer.

Re: Got another What Would You Do...project pontoon
If your not going long distances, pay attention, make wide turns (so you don't hit a big curb), I think scissors are OK. Yes, they are "tippy" and not as stable as the bunk style (due to the width differences). I have never used one but my buddy has one and he has been happy and has not had a proble...

Re: Got another What Would You Do...project pontoon
There is not enough info for me to comment on the price but here is my opinion. 1 - Tiki Bar - I assume you will have a lot of people on the boat. This would have me leaning to the 28' option 2 - You appear to be making modifications (Tiki Bar, Griddle, etc.). Since you may be making mods, get the m...

Re: New Boat Delivery Schedules
To me that indicates the people that are buying are probably first time boaters ... I can vouch for this. Our lake is much busier than normal and full of people that don't know what a no wake zone means or how to backup a trailer :biggrin2 Of course I am being patient because they are having fun an...

I like the brushed black/black molding. How close is that color to your stripe?
The only downside of the black is if it is too far off from the color of your stripe. That may drive me nuts.

Re: Lift cable protection
You could also get some thin gauge PVC pipe then split it with a Dremel tool. Spread it apart and pop it over the cable - it will stay on.

Re: 34 ft storage area needed near Daytona 9/28-10/1
1 - Call some local boat dealers (preferably that sell your brand) and ask them if you could pay them a few bucks. 2 - Call some local wrecker companies and ask the same (they usually have fenced in yards) 3 - Also, google RV Campgrounds and RV Storage Daytona area. For example: https://www.neighbor...

Re: Is this something I'm overthinking?
The load lugs the motor rpm's down just like climbing a hill in high gear in your truck. Now throw in hundreds of pounds of concrete in the back of the truck, unless the wheels are losing grip, the RPM's will go down. The truck performance under load can be controlled with gears but the only "gear" ...
