Re: Starcraft SLS-3 pontoon shopping advice

Given your user name, I think we know the answer to your dilemma already :biggrin2 . What type of water are you on? BIg water? River? All of the above? I have a 150 on a 23' and very happy with the speed but my home lake is 1 mile wide and 10 miles long. I can't go anywhere else so hauling butt is ...

Re: Boat Title

Sometime back I was cleaning out some old files in my desk and i accidentally shreaded the title to my boat. Slight threadjack.... Roland, I think you are in Louisiana and when I saw "boat title", I was a bit confused. I have never had a title for a boat and I have had plenty of them (all bought/so...

Re: Covering Back Deck

Here is my $0.02, assuming I am reading your post correctly.... Having had a lot of boats and styles of boats (including 3 pontoons), I personally would not be concerned about the last 3-4 feet of the back of the boat. I am anal/OCD when it comes to keeping things looking nice and protecting them. O...

Re: RARE PONTOON BOAT ?

Avalon & Tahoe Manufacturing is based out of Alma, Michigan. Maybe someone spun off from them around that time frame and tried to get in the business? I would think there may be some connection due to the size and location of Alma, MI. Here is a blurb from an article going over the history but it ne...

Re: Towing and preventing bugs on front?

I have heard of people using Saran Wrap (as tight as possible). Then run some painters tape on the fence then after that is applied, a small piece of duct tape on the top of the fence and at the rub rail on both sides (no duct tape on the painted fence).

Re: Yamaha 225 vs 250-Sun Tracker vs Sun Catcher

1 – is 23’ enough of a boat to handle Lake Tahoe? I have been on that lake a few times and it can get ugly/scary rough pretty fast. Can you go bigger and go to another ramp? 2 – based on point 1, I would go with at least 250 because storms come up quick and you want the power to run. 3 – if going wi...

Re: Stains on vinyl floor

I would be surprised if it is battery acid but I have been known to be wrong before.

Before you get too aggressive, go to the Dollar Store and get some LA Simply Awesome Cleaner and give it a try. You may also give a Magic Eraser a try as well.

Re: Bug residue

We get spider crap all over our seats and here is what I found: 1 - Periodically, I kill the spiders. I douche our pier and lift with a sprayer and some kind of insecticide (I think it is Wisdom TC that I purchased from Tractor Supply). 2 - Keeping my cover on helps a lot. 3 - I also clean my furnit...

Re: Disguising blemish in carpet?

After looking at the picture, my mind went in this direction. The table pedestal can be interchanged with a Stripper Pole. Google "Pole Dancing Mat". These are safety mats that are designed to fit perfectly around a stripper pole (which will cover up the affected area). This addition will be a great...

I have vinyl flooring and do very little fishing but here are some ideas: Pickup truck TAILGATE mat may be a decent size for what you are looking for: https://www.amazon.com/Dee-Zee-3-2137G-Heavyweight-Tailgate/dp/B000CIY0U6/ref=lp_15737911_1_7?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1528900135&sr=8-7 You can also...

Re: Wishing I had a boat lift

It's ok but I really hate putting the big cover on every night(or almost everynight). I would really like a lift with a awning so at the end of the day, up it goes! I have a covered electric winch lift and the only time I put my boat (and cover) on the lift is when I leave for a few days. Curious w...
