Pardon my ignorance but what make/model boat is that?

One of the reasons I ask is some 22' pontoon boats are not rated to handle a 200hp motor.

Re: Engine winterizing

To me, it all depends upon exactly what was done to winterize it and whether it is injected, TBI or conventional carb'd. If the fuel was properly drained, flushed and emptied, my vote is to let it wait. Some folks prefer to kill the ignition, but crank it several times - long enough to pump oil thr...

Re: Advice on Crest Savannah Tritoon

That document does not appear to be anything but hush money for you to not "disparage" Crest or the dealer(s). They are trying to pay you to keep your mouth shut on social media and I assume that is a pretty standard document. All the other hold harmless stuff is pretty standard from a legal standpo...

Re: Verado 150 engine code reset

Nor have I, that's why I posted it. I referred back to the invoice which read: "checked engine on computer, removed some old codes. Everything is operating correct. Engine has 100% power." You can Google Verado Engine/Fault Codes and over the 200+ listed, at least half are "non-critical". There is ...

Re: Toon is too long for my dock...awning???

Anyone familiar with some type of retractible awning (or something) that can be lowered from the roof, back over the boat and to the water? Once you get a quote from Touchless Cover, you will opt to extend your current cover or do nothing. But since you asked, here is a link: http://touchlesscover....

I hate to say it, but.... ......You made the mistake. ......Good luck, self inflicted pain is just painful. Maybe I'm missing something or don't know how to read. How did the original poster make a "self-inflicted painful mistake"? From what I read, he was quoted a price and based on that price, ma...

Re: Quote went from $125 to actual $275

On average, I would assume the actual cost to Bennington (not the dealer) is around the original price quoted. $125 and they sell it to the dealer for around $195 and the dealer sells it for $275. Retail price of $275 - $82.50 (dealer profit is around a 30% margin) = $192.50 If you are willing to sp...

Re: GPS using ice fishing package on board.

How close is the power source to where you will mount it? My assumption is the wires are already there and you may already have an open switch to wire it to. Personally, hard wiring it seems like the best option (assuming all the wires are already there) as you know it will never run out of juice. O...

Wake Surf Boat meets Pontoon Boat

When the kids were younger (less than 20), I had a Mastercraft Wake Boat. I put 5 times as many hours on my Pontoon boat than I did the Mastercraft. A new player came to the market and is going after both Pontooners and Surfers. Looks pretty cool but is a bit pricey. http://www.montaraboats.com/ htt...

Re: If it ain't broke - don't fix it?

The primary advantage (and possibly the only advantage) to a sling setup is in shallow water situations. Cradles require deeper water. As you know, slings need to be properly spaced (fore/aft) so the weight load is spread properly and also spaced properly from an overhead/beam perspective as they ca...

Re: Advice on Crest Savannah Tritoon

Sorry to hear this. One thing that stuck out is they want your boat plus $29k for an "identical" 2019 model? That seems crazy and if true, that offer is a slap in the face. A few questions. 1 - What does the dealer in Alabama say about getting it fixed? Have they found the problem? Time frame? It is...

For example, sun tracker seems to be a brand geared towards what I'm looking for. I don't have any experience with Sun Tracker but have some friends that do. I have been told by multiple people (multiple times) that if at all possible, stay away from Bass Pro and go with a local (or as close to loc...

Re: Installing Rear facing Speakers

Do you have a ski/tow bar? If you want rear facing speakers that people can actually hear when you are towing the tube/wakeboarding, etc. then I would look into some dedicated speakers designed for that and mount them to your ski/tow bar. You can go the JL/Wetsound/Excile speaker route but the cost ...

I cant give advice on where to buy, as all my covers have come with the boats I have had.
