Re: Barletta vs ??????

The owner of Barletta was 1/3 owner of Grand Design RV's before selling out to Winnebego. And they kicked a$$ as a company in the first 5 years or so. And he's just a great guy--very customer oriented. I think if you have any problems at all, you'll find his organization to be top rate in customer s...

Re: Looking for more HP in my ST 21' NV strake toon.

Your boat is one of the fastest 2 toon boats I've ever heard about, but it just doesn't suit your needs. I suggest you sell it and purchase a boat that does meet your needs. Or, quit carrying co many people/weights. My 24' tritoon with a F150 runs great. And it fully meets our needs. The 150 hp moto...

Re: 3 Toon....not aligned with outer toons??

Sounds as if someone added a third toon to a two toon boat. Are you sure it's 28', as we seldom see pontoon boats that long? How does the boat perform? Does the center toon get your nosecones out of the water? That's where lifting strakes come into play--to lift the nosecones out of the water for in...

Re: Cleaning the fence, polish, white diamond

I too have been using White Diamond for years, however it's really a metal polish that is intended to polish aluminum toons. Your fencing is painted aluminum. It's really a grit suspended in a liquid, and it's intended to be applied with a wool bonnet and a dual action polisher/sander. After about 9...

Re: Speed Guestimate

I would agree that you should be seeing 40 mph or slightly faster. Two toon boats with strakes are actually faster than tritoons of the same length due to lower weight and less drag than having the third toon. But your handicap would be in taking tight turns where your outside toon will dig deeper i...

Re: 2016 SLS3

Most dealers put stainless steel propellers on 150 hp boats, and the standard of the industry for your boat would be a Mercury Enertia prop in either a 14 pitch or a 15 pitch. It's as good as propellers get for pontoons. I have a Yamaha F150, and I use Yamaha's 15 pitch Reliance stainless propeller ...

Re: Hello from Lavonia GA!

Hartwell is one big lake. We keep a RV over in Helen, so we're in your area quite often.

Our boat remains on the fabulous Tennessee River hanging in a boat house all year, however.

I guess you could just call Warren Buffet personally. He's in Omaha, Nebraska at Berkshire Hathaway.

Upper management in companies just hates it when people go over their heads to the Big Dog.

Re: Sun Tracker 18DLX Party Barge and Lake Lanier in GA

Hey, you ever go anchor out by Nick Saban's house on Burton with glittery poster board and wait for him to come out, then squeal? I would. Nick Saban once bought a second house on Lake Burton, and it was for sale for $9.5 million. The boathouses on the lake have to be architect designed and look li...

Berkshire pontoons are part of Warren Buffett's empire under the guise of the Forest River Inc. Their literature says, " Forest River Marine offers the kind of financial stability that no other recreational products company can provide its customers. Forest River Marine remains committed to continua...

Re: New to the Forum from MS

I lived in Memphis 18 years, and traveled North Mississippi daily on business. Sardis is one big lake, and a fine fishing one at that. Sardis Lake used to get a little wild with Ole Miss students below the dam on warm Spring nights. We also used to go to Grenada Lake from time to time. Our home lake...

Re: Props

You're possibly giving up a little mph. I'm running that fast with a F150 and a 24' boat. Everything looks good as far as the hardware, and one notch up should also work. I'll blame it on the Michigan prop. I would suggest re-propping your boat to a 15 pitch Mercury Enertia stainless steel propeller...

Re: Premier? Manitou? Coach? Tritoon for saltwater

Any of those brands would be fine. Just make sure you have the saltwater version. It's also best to have the toons painted if you're 100% saltwater use.

I'm a Bennington owner and therefore my opinion is slanted.

Re: Sun Tracker 18DLX Party Barge and Lake Lanier in GA

Congratulations on your new ride. We love the NE Georgia region, and it's almost a secret to many boaters. With Lake Lanier, you also have Carter's Lake, Blue Ridge, Nottley and Chatuge lakes--all very beautiful. I can honestly say I've never seen any lake that has more luxury (pushing $10 million h...

Re: ICW from Chesapeake Bay to florida

The record holder on the Great Loop was actually a gentleman running a tritoon boat with a big motor. And he just stayed on the move all the time--stopping only to sleep a little. Don't you know his body was about beat after 5000 miles of running the boat. But there's no way I'd want to make such a ...
