Re: Vinyl wraps

Any word on how well the vinyl wraps hold up on Florida Gulf of Mexico salt, sun, etc.? Have been thinking about wrapping my Bennington. I had a custom WVU wrap on my last boat and really liked it. It was a real head turner with incredible detail. It even had the lyrics to Take Me Home, Country Roa...

Re: Question about applying 303 Fabric Guard to cover

I did and didn't have any issues. I will say, however, I bought a gallon of 303 Fabric Guard for $59 in March and applied it with a pump sprayer. I ran out with only about 4 feet of playpen cover left to do. Instead of buying another gallon, I bought a 24 oz. bottle of Starbrite Fabric Guard locally...

Re: weight placard

Thank you! now to find a 24 ft 90-ish pontoon to get a picture of the placard Nice to have one but not a requirement for boats over 20 feet in length. And it is not against federal law to exceed the horsepower rating on the label. It may be against your state law though. And insurance companies may...

Re: Disguising blemish in carpet?

If you just can't stand it, you could try to cut out the bad part and patch a piece in. Provided, of course, you can get your hands on a chunk of the same carpet. If you try this, use the double cut method. Place a piece of the new carpet over the damaged part. With a brand new blade in a utility kn...

Re: A few questions for this boating season (Engine trouble, vinyl repair)

As for exactly what the engine is doing, it just sounds like a car that the engine is turning over, but it never will start. Please tell me you've checked the obvious --> the safety lanyard / kill cord / engine safety cut-out switch (the red thingy in the picture). https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/09...

Re: Where do you fill her up with gas? Cans, station or marina?

Then I’ll have to hold the can up to fill via funnel. The off road cans empty fairly quickly, as long as the funnel can take it. Hope it doesn’t get old too quickly. I fill my boat from two 5 gallon jugs every weekend. No way I would ever use a funnel. Get a jiggle siphon (some call them shaker sip...

Re: Which Scotch Brite for de-scumming the toons?

I acid wash my toons every Fall using a mag wheel cleaner sold by a local hardware store. They carry this product exclusively to clean pontoons. It is bottled locally and not available anywhere else or I would tell you what it is. My boat sits in the water from March to October so I use the green 3"...
Try to avoid the acid wash unless other methods don't properly clean the toon. If you have algae on the bottom, it may be required.
Do you think acid washing removes a significant amount of aluminum? Or is there another reason you suggest to avoid it?

Re: Steering wheel replacement hunt

I got this one from pontoonstuff.com a few seasons ago. Very reasonably priced and customer service that can't be beat. I get lots of compliments on it and it still looks brand new. (Don't forget the discount code for forum members -- will save you an extra 10%.) https://www.pontoonstuff.com/product...
