Where you boat is there a chance of hitting logs, rocks etc? If so alum could save lower unit by bending or breaking 1st. SS is 87x more and won't bend.... :wink:

I wouldn't drill log personally, get a bracket welded onto back of each log. Is this salt or fresh? We keep ours in fresh 51 weeks a year, 1 week out to power wash logs, rinse and repeat, no anodes.

What Steiner said would be my guess, is there support done center of boat to hold toe 2 sheets cut to 48 x 60?

I did some digging around and it appears that BRP and Mercury are going to work together on some future technology in the motors. Who knows if that's just dealer smoke or a fact. I guess we'll figure it out later. They're just going to outfit their boat brands Alumacraft and Manitou with Mercury ou...
