Re: New pontoon price

Yeah they seem pretty elusive with their MSRP. I tried to look on their website. Which is a little confusing and hard to work at first. Or maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet. Hopefully someone here has a source for pricing for you. I just find it odd they don't make mention of MSRP on their websi...

Re: Horse Power rating and weight of motor? Other questions too

I'd think you will be fine with that old 50. I have a 24 ft with a 75 hp 2 stroke on mine. I like it a lot. In fact I wouldn't want anything heavier. If the motor runs good I think you will be fine with it. Lots of old motors out there that are perfectly fine for a long time. Many old motors just ge...

Re: Question about new (to me) toon configuration

Better safe than sorry for sure. It is a cool looking boat. I'm sure once you get that part figured out you will have a ball on it.

I don't want to see you on the news being the first pontoon over the falls for sure. LOL :)

Re: Question about new (to me) toon configuration

What I meant by hinging the back would be to fabricate a frame back there. You'd have to have a frame welded to support the back of the deck, instead of those pipe supports that are back there now. (Those are like how they have pop up campers supported so that is why I mentioned it may already be re...

Re: Cross member spacing

I was actually looking at pontoons over the weekend. I found a set of 27 inch logs that where about 2600 for the set. That didn't seem to bad. I think that would probably be my first change after the top side is done. That or the 25 inch. Only reason I saw really to go to the 25 inch over the 27 was...

Re: Motor height

You'll have to upload them direct as the 3rd party hosting doesn't seem to work on this forum. It needs some work but the owner is kinda busy with work is what I read.

You'll also want to resize them to 800x600 or close to that or they will end up huge.

Re: Question about new (to me) toon configuration

Anything up river from Niagara falls I would have a backup motor for sure. You may think about a powerful trolling motor for up front to at least get you to shore. Then work on getting things running again. Also some good anchors might be in order. As for hooking in to the gas. I suppose you could r...

Re: 1988 Harris Pontoon Rebuild --- Pontoonstuff.com

Well I got my bunks in for the trailer. Well half of them anyway. They shipped them as singles instead of pairs. So i got enough for one side. Easy fix I called them up and they are going to have them ship them out quick to me. While it could be a pain for someone who is missing stuff on an order I ...

See if you can find it on Ebay etc. Discount it to what you are comfortable accepting. looks like new Black Max props are 120-160 from my quick look at ebay. But you may want to look up your exact one.

Re: Removing plug from Premier pontoon log

You shouldn't need a breaker bar. I would use a small wrench. With a breaker bar you kinda loose the amount of force your actually applying. A smaller wrench gives you less force but is easier to know when you are starting to move vs breaking something. And yes go slow. But watch it to see if it mov...

Re: Removing plug from Premier pontoon log

You can get those in metal at your nearest Walmart most likely. There is nothing special about them. I have metal ones. We have bags of the plastic ones at work. It is a standard NPT plug. If it does break you should be able to get it out with a blade on the inside to grip it as you turn. I wouldn't...

Re: Help me solve this battery riddle....

Sounds like a short to ground somewhere. Ground your - terminal on your stand alone and I bet it does the same.

So one of your positive side wires is shorted to ground and only when you have the frame grounded with the power source does it pop the breaker. Or so it sounds like.

Re: Another new tooner. From western NY

BTW I like your boat. Mine is 24 ft. A shorter boat would be a cool fishing boat I have thought. My son and I took the pontoon out fishing and it is a bit on the big side for that. But it is what I have.
