Hi, been members for a week or two now but just picked up our boat this past Saturday. Don't have any pics of the inside yet but will take some when we take it to the slip this weekend. Never had a pontoon boat before but we love the water and fishing. We are really excited to get on the water this weekend! This is a great forum....

Hey there.

New guy from S.E. Oklahoma here. Just picked up our first pontoon last week. 97 partybarge
I'm the type of guy who likes to tinker and modify everything I touch so this seems like a great place for toon info.
I've been browsing around and it looks like a bunch of great people having a fantastic time. I hope I can be a productive addition to the fun.

Hope to talk to you all soon.

Pics on the way soon after a little cleaning up on the boat :)

Hello,

We bought our first boat last week! Its a 2001 Sweetwater Challenger. In one week we've taken it out five times and are headed out again in a few minutes.

Finding this forum is a great surprise because I have a lot of questions about pontoon boats and boating. I grew on a lake that did not allow motors of any kind on boats, so my experience is limited to row, sail and paddle boats.

Hello from Lake Norman, NC! I've been boating for 30 years and grew up on the Chesapeake. I just sold my 24' cabin cruiser and bought a new 2011 240 Bentley Encore Cruise with a 115HP Evinrude E-TEC on the back.

I've driven 'toons a lot, but never owned one and I'm definitely looking forward to the room, less maintenance and more room (yes, I said it twice!) :lol3

Good to find this forum. I owned a Four Winns and there was a similar forum and it was very helpful.

Happy Summer 2011!

Don

Hi Ed! I grew up not terribly far from you on the western shore. We boated out of Bush River when I was very young and then out of Middle River later on. I've been up your way by boat a couple times. Beautiful country.

Lake boating is much different..... no tides, no salt and I don't miss the shallow estuaries of the Chesapeake. We live on a deep water lake and if my depth finder gets below 10' I start getting nervous. :-)
