Hi gang---ole wwind3 here---another refugee from the "other" forum. Been lurking here for a while but thought I'd join the fun.

Pulled the trigger and ordered my toon today---decided to go with the Beachcomber 18 ft Cruise n fish as I'll mostly be fishing and cruisin'---no skiing or tubiing. Delivery around March 1st.

Thanx for everyone's help and advice--I learned a lot.

Specs are as follows.

18 ft Fish n Cruise with changing room--has 25 in. logs and livewell. and bimini top
90 hp 2 stroke Yamaha
Tandem axle galvanized trailer
Factory underskinning
Stainless Prop
Motor Guide W55 Wireless Trolling Motor--may jump to a 70 pound 24 volt--not sure the 12 volt is enough in the Texas wind---any input there will be appreciated.

Am excited and ready to start fishing again..

Will fish the McDonald's Big Bass Tourney on Sam Rayburn in April. ONE MILLION DOLLARS in cash and prizes will be awarded======probably 8 to 10000 people will fish it. Pretty amazing....First place Big Bass is a cool $250,000 in cash and prizes. Fished the first one 25 years ago---really has grown since then.

Welcome and it sounds like a great toon, but I'm with you on the trolling motor, bigger will hold you in a wind and still let you move when you want.

I'll love to have a remote one, but then I settle having extra money and time to get mine out this year to do some fishing

Welcome aboard!! Sounds like a great setup!! I have a fishing model too and it makes it nice with 3-4 people able to grab corner seats!

Be sure to post up some pics when you get her! :pics

Congrats on new boat.
Did you go with the vinyl floor?
They make a fine toon as two of my neighbors have them. Plus they are made 30 miles form my house.

yep---went with vinyl and the 2 seats up front with the changing room/lounge seat in back for the porta potty for the bride.
