My suggestions on any used boat purchase:
1. Ask when the water pump impeller was changed--since you know the previous owner. They're usually changed every 3 years.
2. Change the lower unit grease--looking to see if there's any milkiness to the grease after it drains (looking for water contamination.) This is an every Fall maintenance.
3. If the boat has a trailer, have the wheel hubs repacked with new grease--whether it is needed or not. You don't want any trailer surprises.
#2-lower unit oil was just changed so we are good!
#3- trailer needs some service work, fortunately i know a guy who works on trailers for a living (me) so i will get things sorted out. This trailer doesnt appear to be one that i would want to use for long distance transport of the toon, but since we have a boat ramp in our small community, i feel it will be fine for spring launches, fall pull outs.
