Hello from Packerland

#1 Post by Lurch77 » Sun Mar 31, 2013 4:43 pm

Hello,

I am from Oconto, WI, right on the western shores of Green Bay. That's the Lake Michigan bay, not the city. Though we are 30 miles north of the city of Green Bay, and it is where our boat dealer is located. My wife and I recently bought a new 20' Sun Tracker Party Barge with a 75hp Optimax (largest HP recommended for this boat). Our dealer ordered it from the factory and it was delivered last week. The dealer is holding it for us until the snow and ice clears. They are also a Bennington dealer. Wow, nice boats, but a bit pricey for our first foray into the boating world.

We decided on a pontoon since the youngest of our 3 kids is in a wheelchair, and this will allow him to more easily have fun with the family. I've been lurking here for a while now, and I know you all like pictures, so we'll get those for you as soon as the water opens up and we can get the boat in.

I'm looking forward to reading and interacting more with the people of this forum. Thanks in advance for the welcome.

P.S. Reading through the forum, I see I will be among many veteran brothers. I spent 9 years in the US Navy.

Welcome to the forum from a northern neighbor, although I wouldn't really call it Packerland. :biggrin2

Welcome cheesehead!

My mom's family are from Manitiwoc.
Where will you be boating? I hear Winnebago is an unboatable disaster.
