1976 Charger Deck Boat

#1 Post by Richard_Kuhn » Thu Apr 02, 2009 6:37 am

I am hoping that someone here might be able to help me. I have a 1976 Charger Deck Boat, Center Console, Tri Hull that I am trying to find information on. I am in need of the information that is on the Capacity Plate or Specification Plate that is on the center console of the boat. The company that manufactured the boat lost all of it's records in a fire in the mid 90's so they were of no help. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Can't say I seen one of those, but it looks it good shape for the shape it's in, tandem trailer has to make the hauling better as you don't end up over loading one tire and the tires will last longer

It is in better shape now than it was. When I got it, it was setting in a farmers field in Eastern Nebraska for at least a couple of years on the ground and unprotected. I replaced the floor and the foam under the floor and rebuilt all of the wood parts due to rot. The foam was totally saturated. No motor. I am in the process of changing the 50 HP to a 90HP. It did ok with the 50, just needed a little more power.

The boat was manufactured by All Family Craft out of Richmond Mo. They had a fire in the mid 90's and lost all of their older records so am scrounging for this last little bit of information.

If your trying to decide how many passengers you can carry I would figure 1 per seat min and 2 Max. But that is a wild guess.
You might try your local lake patrol as they might be able to help you. We built an old toon quite a few years back and the lake patrolman did some math and gave us a hp rating and a passenger rating

For a 1976 that's a very nice looking boat. I think you should post some more pics! I've never seen anything like that on the water around here. Echoing what someone else said; figure one 200lb person per available seat and probably another 200lbs on top of that for gear and equipment.

Here is a site that I have additional pics posted. From where it was in the farmers field, when the floor and carpet was replaced, to the just about finished product. Once the snow melts here I have some more work to do on it and get the Merc 90 HP hooked up and it will be ready to put on the water again and will post additional pics. Enjoy!

Thanks for the support. It has been a long road to this point, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe winter is finally over.

The weather should clear this next week and melt the snow. With any luck at all I will have the boat home next weekend to do some more work on it. Will get additional pictures posted then.

Check out the link. I added a scan of an original flier for the boat to the rest of the pictures. It did provide some additional information but still looking for more. Thanks for all of the responses. Great bunch here!!
