Newbie from TX

Howdy folks,

I'm pretty much a boating newbie. I grew up with 16' - 22' fiberglass boats, and had a '63 Sears-Roebuck 12' aluminum V since I was 12 (just sold it recently). For most of that time, I was a kid and boating season was 3 months long. And the '63 Sears had wooden rows for propulsion.

I just recently purchased my first "real" boat, a 25' '09 Veranda with a 115 Yamaha. It almost didn't happen. During the test drive, we suddenly lost power. We got it back to the ramp and hauled it back to the dealer. They found it had been running lean and one of the pistons burned. Bad gas and a dirty fuel line filter. The dealership replaced the powerhead and the entire fuel system and gave me a 1 yr warranty on the whole motor. Thank goodness it happened on the test drive!

Great board you have here! I'm looking forward to reading, learning, and relaxing a bit on the water!

Thanks,
Kevin
