I have a 2015 Lowe SF 232. We took it out for the first time this season on Saturday and had a GREAT time, as always. With a lot of rain coming to the area in the next few weeks, I'm plagued with a question that I battled for the short amount of time I had the boat during the season last year. My Lowe boat cover (from the factory) does a very good job keeping the rain, etc. out......not really anything to complain about. HOWEVER, I have about 12 in. of carpeted deck that comes out past the front of the fence (where the cover snaps) that is exposed to the elements. Once it gets wet, it wicks the moisture into the carpet inside the front of the boat, which is otherwise moisture-free. Obviously, next time I know this isn't something I want to have (this is my very first boat) but I want to find the best solution to keep my investment as nice as possible. Is "tarping-it" the only option? Any feedback is appreciated!

they have covers that snap to front rub rail that would cover every thing then.

My cover came with a zip on "bra" for the section of the bow outside the fence. It's a pain in the a$$ to snap to the rub rail.

I have the same issue...2 feet up front that is outside the fence and subjected to the elements. It's actually at the canvas shop right now getting a custom section added. Bill is around $300 for the work but will go along way in saving the carpet and keeping the water out.

Thanks all. I think a new custom cover is the route I'll probably need to go. Obviously not excited about spending an extra $400-$600, but I think its probably worth it to protect the investment of a boat that is less than a year old.

Here's another thought. How about instead of dropping hundreds of dollars to keep out infrequent water from rain, why not head down to like Harbor Freight or Lowes or Depot and buy an inexpensive nylon tarp and a 10.00 can of bungee cords? All you need it for is the front end if I understand this right. Take the money you wont be spending and put it in your savings account for something on the boat you really want to buy and that will add to the overall experience of it. A better Ice chest, a stereo upgrade...the list is endless. Don't blow it on a custom cover when a cheap tarp does the same thing for 15% of the price .
