1st time boat owner pulling trigger on 24' sun tracker party

#1 Post by Mr. Eric » Sun Jul 24, 2016 6:23 pm

Hi all, Well I'm probably pulling the trigger this week on a 24 sun tracker party barge,
Went to 6 different dealers on Saturday 11hr day.... Saw Avalon, South Bay, crest, premier, etc.. Sure some were very nice, but just couldn't get the bang for buck from those at this time.
Anyways looking forward to getting to know this forum and folks on it!!

Welcome to the club.
I don't think you can go wrong with a Party Barge.

24 party barge here and buddy the fun is just beginning when you buy it. Then you get to do all the custom things that make it yours.

Would advise anyone that is buying new or used to get that second top in the front... Makes the world of difference in the heat of summer and if you get caught in a rain shower to. Best little extra you can add to your boat.

Post some photos when you get it behind your truck..
Looking forward to seeing it and some family photos enjoying it.
Bass boat, pontoon and jet ski here. You only live once. Don't let it slide by.

Thanks all for the warm welcome!! I will definitely post some pics... Going through the financing tomorrow, called my insurance company for a quote and I was pretty happy with the insurance premium 250.00 a year is okay by me. Compared to auto insurance this is great!! :biggrin2

I've owned 2 Sun Trackers, a 32 ft Party Cruiser and now have a 2013 Party Barge. Great boats. And I concur, get a dual bimini top.

Is the dual Bimini an aftermarket item, or does sun tracker dealer need to install this?

Dealer can install it, but I think they charge $700 or so. I bought mine on eBay (Vortex Direct) for $150 and installed it myself.

Thank you for information, I will definitely look into the 2nd Bimini (self install).
I am picking the boat up August 12th.. :drool . Can't wait!,
Unfortunately I am not getting too much help/guidance on typical things I will need.
I.E. Anchor, fenders, dock lines (type, length), certain tools to keep on board.... Etc,etc.
If some folks on this forum would chime in and help me out that would be great. Looking for particulars on any items. Way too many options and I have zero experience but I want good stuff that will last.
I will make a list of all the desired/necessary equipment and purchase all at once before I get the boat. :biggrin2. All help is appreciated!!!
