Hello from Central Louisiana!

#1 Post by Goober » Thu Dec 08, 2016 7:13 am

Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. My Wife and I just purchased a 2017 Sun Tracker 18 Bass Buggie as a 20th Anniversary present to ourselves. We took it out only once before the rains came and had a blast. Thanks for the forum, I have already picked up some good tips.

Will probably be on the Red River and local lakes. We hope to make a few trips to Toledo Bend for some good fishing.

Welcome and greetings from a former La guy (Concordia Parish). A couple of nephews and their families live in Pineville and I once had an office in Alex. Good ole CenLa!

Howdy Neighbor. My first impression is pretty good. Realizing this is my first boat and we only had it on the water once until the rains came. It has great acceleration, cruised smoothly and was fun to run around the lake. We tried fishing and we were both able to cast and maneuver our rods easily from the front and back seats.

Hope this helps and enjoy.

Thanks for the reply, glad your first time was good. I'm not new to boats but I am new to pontoon and Tracker. I spent last summer reading EVERYTHING on the net and visiting all the dealers including Tracker. It looks like the bass buggy would be the one for us and I'm also aware of the quality differences. I'm sure with mature care and maintenance it will serve us well. We are just hitting 60 years old and just want to chase the big bluegill around the lake.
Some say don't bother unless you get the 75hp, I'm thinking the 60ct would be good enough. Did you feel under powered?
Looking forward to hearing about your experiences. Would love it if you kept me up to date with maybe a p.m. or email
thanks

Hi Roland, thank you and you are correct. Pollock is about 16 miles north of Alexandria. Glad to be on here and might have to try Caddo Lake this summer.
