New to forum with questions

#1 Post by Capt. Hugh » Mon Sep 25, 2017 5:40 pm

Just posting a hello to this forum. I am new to the forum, but not new to pontoon boats.

My wife has been running a business from 2 pontoons (pictured below) for the past 10 years.

I have a 22 ft riveria cruiser, 25 in logs, and 8 1/2 ft wide. No strakes, but plan on adding a center pontoon with lifting strakes. What kind of performance can I expect with a 150 Optimax?

Thanks,
Capt. Hugh

Capt. Hugh, welcome to the club sir.... sorry, I can't answer you question about performance on a 150.. I just run a little ol 75 - 4 stroke. But I'm sure someone on this forum can give you a pretty accurate answer.

I have a 24 foot 2.75 tritoon with 25" tubes and 2 lifting strakes with a 150 4S Yamaha and generally run 33 MPH with a dirty hull...

Yeah, she's loaded down with just about everything. A freezer full of ice cream and a refrigerator full of drinks and a cooker full of items like bacon cheeseburgers, bar-b-que, hot dogs etc. Coolers full of ice and other supplies like sun glasses and insect repellant.
Plus many other things - a floating convenience store
:)

Thanks,

Capt. Hugh
