New People

#1 Post by DPMS308 » Wed Jun 20, 2018 8:06 pm

Hello everyone.

New to the forum. Here's a brief bit about me (and my wife).

I had a runabout back in the 90s (Sylvan 16' bow rider) but haven't been a boat owner in a number of years. My wife and I decided we aren't getting any younger and should get more out of life so we bought a Qwest pontoon from a semi-local marina here in Virginia. We bought the boat at the National Capital Boat show near D.C. and had to order it so we didn't receive it until the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. We are 20 minutes from the marina where we rented a slip on Lake Anna (Virginia).

I'll get some pictures posted eventually. We may have some questions but I know it is rude to not build a forum presence before you just walk in and start firing off a bunch of "what about", "why does", "how do I". etc.. I have a number of anecdotes about the process I can share if anyone is interested in our experience. I'll also be posting some observations regarding the fit and finish of Qwest boats.

So anyway, here's us. This looks like a great forum with a lot of very nice people.

Warm Regards

Jeff & Melissa Zimmerman

Welcome Jeff (and Melissa!)-

My boat is at Lake Anna, too. I keep it at Lake Anna Yacht Club (blue roofed slips by the 208 bridge). I'm always looking for fellow LKA boaters, so don't hesitate to post or message me if you have any questions about the Lake. I've been boating on the lake for the last three years and know it pretty well!

Looking forward to learning more about your Qwest, too.
