Hello from coastal Georgia

We bought a pontoon boat about 20 years ago to use on the river that we live on. Never used it much and got sidetracked with a progression of sailboats and trawler yachts. My wife of 41 years has finally called a halt to offshore boating so I am trying to revive the pontoon to use as a fishing/camping boat.

So far I've removed the seats. After 20 years the upholstery was in safe shape. I replaced the captain's chair with one for a saltwater fishing boat. The cushions are removable and replaceable.

I had to replace the battery cables, fuel level sending unit in the fuel tank, cleaned the fuel tank with mineral spirits. I was amazed that the engine hadn't seized after all that time. Ordered a new bimini today. Hopefully it will be ready to hit the water when it warms up.

We are about 1-1/2 hours south of Savannah on the (big) Satilla River. We are in the lower tidal portion of the river near Woodbine, GA.

The board does not look like it accepts uploaded media so I'll post pictures when I go inside. I'm sitting on the dock and don't seem to have much will to move.

Welcome to the board. You will find many unbiased solutions and opinions here.
Keep us posted on your progress getting that boat ready.
We also went from 40+ years of salt water both power and sail and now find ourselves looking that the toon as my wife does not like busting chop and prefers that peaceful cruise and not concerned how long it takes...

Good luck with your project..
