New pontoon boat owner from Central Pennsylvania

#1 Post by Thechap1 » Tue Jul 13, 2021 1:18 pm

I just picked up a 2013 Sunchaser Oasis 818. It has a 2018 Mercury 20 HP Motor. I bought this boat because I could only fit three people in my Bass Tracker boat. I'm very impressed with the amount of room this has. I'm going to have several questions like what model trolling motor you guys are using and where's a good place on the boat to put it. I will also need to install a fish finder and I need help with that one too. Thanks for letting me join. I hope I put this in the right place.

Welcome Chappy!
Congrats on the new boat. You'll find lot's of helpful people here and perhaps an as**ole or two, but that's part of the fun. :biggrin2 All in all, it's a great group of people. There is a a wide variety of boats represented here and TONS of accumulated knowledge.

Let us know how we can help!

Hey, Chappy - Welcome! As Steve said, there are a lot of folks who will contribute what they know to help you. Many will offer even when they know nothing! :nana

Would love a few pics of your set up.

Welcome, had to go thru my build thread to grab these, I made it like old tyme wooden tool box.

It has 4 8-32 bolts sticking out the bottom about an 1-1/2 inches, they slip into holes on my console and i used quick disconnects for wires.....it doesn't stay on the boat at the slip.....yet
