Trying to buy

#1 Post by wvrose » Fri Sep 18, 2009 7:53 am

I'm new to this but I would love some advice. I'm trying to buy a 1996 Sweetwater. The asking price is $3,000. It's rough (lots of mildew, torn cushions) but has newer carpeting and decking. It has no extras except a trolling motor that I don't want. It was originally in the rental pool at the lake near me. It has the original 9.9 HP motor. I will appreciate any advice.

Welcome
Is that boat only or does it have a trailer? I sold a 89 25ft San Pan with a 90 merc and tandem trailer for 5k last year. The furniture need to be replaced or covered but that was the only problem with the boat.

I say around 2000.might be right, now with a trailer it would be 3000.

You probably won't be real happy with the speed of a 9.9 unless you are on a hp restricted lake. I would take a test drive on any boat that I wanted to buy first. Good luck.
