Width between pontoons for trailering purposes

#1 Post by markasar » Tue Sep 29, 2009 5:38 pm

HI Everyone!
It's almost that time of year to pull my 2004- 24' Crestliner which is 8 1/2' wide, out of the water and I have the chance to buy this 24' scissors type trailer( NOW) which has a 48" wide lift/support brace. I can't get up north to measure the width between my pontoons and was hoping someone could tell me if this trailer will fit my boat. I believe the trailer is a Haul Rite, 1990 model.
Thank you very much for any help.
OH! I'm not sure of the diameter of the toons but they are the larger size.

8 1/2 feet is your deck but not the center of the toons. I don't know the exact distance between the center of your toons but I would measure that distance and have the folks selling the trailer measure the distance on center between the bunks. I would want that measurement to be pretty close the the same so you are supporting your toons with two boards on the bunk and not one.

Thanks SundeckBently.......I'm sorry, I didn't specify that the trailer was a scissor type and the metal frame is what is 48 inches wide.I since edited my question which is I just don't know the width or length of space between the pontoons and will not be able to get up north before making this purchase or the trailer will be sold to another party. Thanks again! Marc

It will fit and you more than likely need to add to 48 with boards to keep toon centered. Your logs can't be more than 18 to 22 "
