#1 Post by castaway » Fri Jan 29, 2010 1:47 pm

I'm going to be placing a older pontoon 35ft houseboat in saltwater for a weekend retreat. I'm going to apply bottom paint for aluminum. how long will it last b4 having to pull it back out and redo.........Thanks

Welcome ! You'll have to touch up every season, recoat every 3-5 depending on the paint's condition. Make sure you use paint safe for aluminum hulls (i.e Trilux 33). NEVER use paint containing copper, or you'll have severe corrosion issues.
