New Member Checking In

#1 Post by DWill3332 » Wed Jun 30, 2010 6:00 pm

Good evening. I am a new member of the forum. I recently purchased a 24' 2007 SunChaser made by SmokerCraft. It is powered by a 90 HP Mercury motor and I transport it on a tandum axle Masterryde trailer. I bought it from the Tracker Boat Dealer in Prattville, Alabama in December of last year. The boat looked brand new and I found out that the former owner only put it in the water a half-dozen times. Those folks were great to deal with and really treated us well throughout the deal. We have had it out on Lake Oliver here in Columbus, GA several times. We live only 5 minutes from the lake so it makes it easy to get in the water quickly. I have added a Hummingbird 383c GPS/FishFinder - mainly for the GPS feature and the speedometer. We have usually just cruised the lake but last week-end we started tubing.

I have been reading the forum for some time as a visitor, but decided to join last night because I had a question about the RPM reading on the tach. (My question is posted in the general discussion part of the forum and I have already received two suggested fixes.) Hopefully, I can continue to get answers to my questions and then, maybe, I could even give some answers.

I bought two jet skis last summer and had nothing but trouble with them. They were supposed to provide some quality "Family time" but all they did was give us quality "headaches." When I found out that the dealer would take them in on trade even though one of the had a bad motor, I jumped at the chance to get rid of my headaches. We have had more family time on the pontoon than we ever could have on the skis. Glad to be on the water again.
