I agree, the Yamaha motor doesn't require much winterizing. The I/O does. It will also be a bit more fuel efficient.

Dieseling is when you turn the key off on the motor continues to run briefly solely on compression...also called "run on". Doesn't happen in fuel injected motors, only carbureted motors.

Dieseling is when the engine continues to run after you turn off the key. Numerous causes, carbon deposits, low grade fuel, or as BMR said carburetor needs adjusting, also on older engines having timing set too fast.
