Wife & I drove up to Lake Isabella, Ca just to see what it looked like for the 23rd Annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby.
There was aprox 11-12 tons of trout planted for the 3 day event. $20.00 entry fee, the top tagged trout worth $20,000, ten trout worth $10,000,ten $500.00 & seven worth between $200 & $500.
WILL post some pics I took, they was reported to be near 6000 entrys.
Every where we looked was a camper, if it was too hard to get a camper in there was a truck or car and a tent.
I am going to take my camper & toon up on Tuesday the derby is over mon, eve at 6 pm. hope they will be mostly gone by then so I can park my camper on the shore without all of the crowds & catch some fish that were left over, no $$ just fun for me & my crew.

Ive heard its always a zoo out there for the derby,

but tempting, may do it one year

your right BB, it appeared to me that it is/was a zoo that is why I am going up the day after the derby is over, hope to stay for a week or so.
