Tampa fishing report

My father in-law, a fishing buddy, and I headed out to the Anclote Grass Flats today despite the chilly northern breeze. We were all in desperate need of some time on the water. It was one of those days where just getting out in the salty water was the mission, and catching some fish was a bonus.
The wind was blowing around 15 knots fro the NW so we headed out to the norther tip of the Anclote Key sandbar and drifted back towards the direction of the Anclote River. It was a pretty fast drift so we were basicallt trolling with no motor. The bite was slow at first so I dropped in a chum bag. We hooked up on some keeper trout and a spanish mackerel.
After a couple hours we had drifted/trolled several miles so we decided to head back to the dock. It was getting cold and the sun dipped behind some afternoon clouds. Neither me or my buddy consider ourselves great fishermen, but we both took home some dinner. Here are some photos of out much needed expedition.
Loading up the 23' Polar...
Some dudes working the leeward side of the mangroves...
Leaving Gulf Harbors, and getting chilly...
Starting our drift. Some white caps, chilly air, but it felt GREAT...
I know 'Trout Don't Count' but for us rookies the do...
Fish Dracula...
I finally perfected the Canoe Man Loop. Tried out this Blaze lure my dad gave me a while back...
Caught a keeper Spanish Mack with it...
Sun was getting low, and the temp was dropping. Time to head back it...
Perfect ending to a perfect Florida afternoon...
My bonus...
