Possibly, but a good carpenter never blames his tools. Beware, most fishing gear is designed to catch the fisherman.

Exactly... I always laught at the guys that have $15,000 worth of lures and baits but have $15 rods and reels.

On fishing......since my wife catches more, and bigger fish than I do, I have to give her some credibility for
what she says, but she claims I don't do better because "you don't hold your mouth right"

I suppose it's a Southern thing, since she was born in south Mississippi and grew up in south central
Alabama, but there may be something to it....

I agree with a lot of the forementioned advice.

I myself believe in the old saying

Early to bed
Early to rise
Fish all day
And make up lies!

Funny story, we buy the new toon and take it out. We don't catch any fish, but enjoy ourselves and the ride.

Then we spend a day doing stuff on the boat and it's too windy to take it out, so I start tossing jigs into the water around the Marina.

Never leave the dock and catch a nice mess of crappie on an old Zebco 33 rod/reel combo, a spinner and shad bodied lure.

Can't complain about that.

For that matter, here in Kansas when the Cottonwoods are blowing cotton, if you see the carp feeding on it, just toss out white feathered jigs. It's amazing how much fun a Carp can be when it bends your pole!

Looks like lots of species in that river to fish for.
