We went fishing last week. We had rod holders on the previous boat and realized how much we missed them. I found some by Eagle Claw that looks good. What do you guys use that doesn't scratch the railing?

I have these:

They will definitely scratch the railing, but I just take a couple of mechanics rags and use as a buffer when I clamp them down. It's no big deal, but it would be nice if they have some type of rubber on the clamp.

I found a video earlier showing how it works as well as adapter, but can't find it now. :x

(I posted these on your other post as well)

These rod holders are great for the money and you can get numerous bases to allow you to mount rod holders to flat surfaces or on rails.

I think we have the ability to mount 16 rods on our pontoon boat depending on how we are fishing :happy

I have a bunch of the Scotty's from a runabout boat that I was going to transfer to my new pontoon. I agree they work very well...just wished they floated as I dropped one in the water last year.

Has anyone mounted these to the poles for the bimini? I have a tow bar over the motor that I was going to mount a few on and the rest on the bimini frame...I'm assuming it's strong enough.

Just throwing out something a bit different here---
I have driftmasters all around my toon--14 of them and love them--

My brother has rodholders from this guy-

Also does E-bay

Had I known about these I would have gone with these--much less pricy (the base is included) and when I use them in my brothers toon I have no complaints--Just a much lower cost for amount we wanted--

I like those...would be great if the EZFender guy would make a wire pole holder like that to fit into the EZFender mounts!

Just ask Bryan. I'm sure he can make whatever you need. He made me some custom EZFenders with Smaller diameter holes. His link is at the topof the forum page.
