Galveston Guides?

#1 Post by JBO » Sat Jun 06, 2015 10:10 pm

Anyone here have any personal recommendations for guides in Galveston, TX? We'll be in Galveston in August and we were looking at the possibility of a guided fishing trip. Anyone have any recommendations here?

Are you looking at Bay fishing or Deep Sea?
My brother has taken out a bay guide there a couple of times--
I can check with him if that's what you are looking at--
I often wonder if Jimmy really did crack corn, and why should I care?

Probably Bay fishing most likely. Thanks!

We went deep sea fishing for the first time ever at the end of May from Surfside Beach (not in Galveston but not far). Captain had us set in the shade of an oil rig for a good part of the day (shade was nice) and the deck hand did an excellent job getting the kids and wife involved. And we caught our limit before the end of the day except for one shark short. We knew two other groups of friends that were out that weekend by coincidence after showing our pictures. Said they caught nothing. We plan on going back and using the same outfit again.

Does the Texsun II still run bay fishing out of Galveston?

If so, we've used them, and the Baylor Bears Football Team uses them, and the catches were pretty good.

http://charterfishinggalveston.com/Char ... sun-II.htm The website and phone number is still active.
