finally bought a camper

#1 Post by Snider4 » Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:54 am

We finally bought a camper to go with the toon, picking it up next Tuesday. We found a 2007 Jayco Jay 1008 pop up camper, heat A/C and water, can't wait to hit the water and camp. Has anyone ever pulled a camper with a Ford Sport Trak? Any advice will be appreciated, this is our first camper. We have been putting toghether a list of the things we think we"ll need for camping.

Ford Expedition for the toon, which is how we have always pulled it and we"re setting the sport trak up for the camper. I've never pulled anything heavier then 1500 pounds, my tractor, with the sport trak, so I'm wonderin how it will do.I'll get some pics as soon as possible.

Something like this actually we only had the sport trac hooked up to get it in with for wheel drive on the gravel. A mile to lot and then in. It did great and I pull the toon with my red one (yes we have two) and my bro has one also.

You should be fine with a pop up.

Sure does I'll tell you what that motor has some balls for a v-6 :guitar

Pulls the toon right out! :ten

I just like the room and with the locking bed cover I can take trip to lake loaded and not worry about rain, or take it off and haul a wheeler!!!

Good camping!!
