New Topic Section in forum.

#1 Post by badmoonrising » Sun Oct 07, 2012 1:04 pm

Suggested my MJ Warner.

I think we could benefit from a new section, "destinations".
After posting my vids and info about our recent cruise on the Silver River in "members photos" it occurred to me that few folks knew about this location or how to access it.

Got me thinking... I wouldn't know where to put in, park the trailer, or cruise to if I wanted to go to the Destin location that South Bay 514 made look and sound so intriguing.

What I'm thinking is an area where folks can post pictures and info about their favorite day-tripping areas.

Maybe we could sub-list it all by state to make it easy to navigate.

Info includes Name of area, river or lake.
Location by vehicle, Name and location of ramp(s) with pertinent info such as fees, etc.
Local tips as to best times to go, ramp particulars, etc.
Pictures of the trip showing area scenery and general good times being had by members.
History of the site as it makes the place interesting or secret places to go once there.

There have been lots of great posts about places folks here have cruised to. It would also be helpful if people posted links to web sites about the area visited.
Great idea!

You guys left out the single most important data point to place on such a map.
WHERE THE PARTY COVE IS :nana
There are a number of lakes within a three hour drive that I would like to visit. It would kind of fun to find where the raft ups occur. I love meeting new people, plus the locals will have lots of info on the rest of the lake.

BMR: You mean new topic subject in THIS forum right ?

Some of the other enthusiasts forums I go to (Motorcycling) have them by general geographics ( e.g. SW, NW etc) and then the details are defined by exact areas.

Seems to work out well...
