Calling all Okies -- let's have a get-together

#1 Post by OK Toon » Wed Mar 27, 2013 7:33 am

We have a large number of members on this forum from Oklahoma. What does everyone think about a get-together this summer on the water? Now, which lake???? I know we have some members on Tenkiller, Grand, Eufaula and Texoma.

Oh-kla-homy isn't far from Colorado!

The people of Colorado LOVE Oklahoma - after all it's the only thing that keeps Texas from touching our state!

Depends on the date, and business activity, but would be fun. So count me as a maybe.

Betty and I would host an evening cookout at our home here in Mclaster. If any want to get a hotel for the night I will see if boats could be kept in the gated yard where I keep my boat.

I'm good with either Eufaula or Tenkiller. But here are a few things to think about.

The pro's about Eufaula
  • sandy beaches to beach the toons
The con's about Eufaula
  • shallow water in certain areas (especially with the lake down)
  • muddy water

The pro's about Tenkiller
  • clear water
  • deeper water
The con's about Tenkiller
  • rocky shores so not much beaching of the toons
I would prefer to be able to beach the toons so we can wander about and check out the toons and get to know everybody. That's a little difficult if you are just anchored and having to float from toon to toon.

Loyd, that is very generous of you and and Betty. :thumbsup Thank you!

Either lake would good and a big raft up would be in order.

I'm in if we're not playing softball or tee ball. If ya want to beach 'em, Eufaula is the only way to go. If we stay around Eufaula Cove or #9, shallow water shouldn't be too much of a problem.
