If you haven't bolted it down yet, take it to Lowes or Home Depot and let them cut it for you! I've done that before. I just make sure to go during a time when I know they probably aren't busy and they are happy to do it.

Fun to watch your rebuild and hear about your domino effect. . . as one thing leads to another. Mine is the same way. I thought I'd polish the pontoons and suddenly found myself with dead boat parts all over the yard. I've never had so much fun in my life!

Clamped down and first bolt in "everything is learning experience". I'm using the bolts (not screws). I have to come up from the bottom (small space) using what is suppose to be a 90 degree adapter (it's not 90) and well getting a straight shot up isn't so easy. First bolt was not straight. I'll work through that.

What kind of bit's are you all using to make the counter sink for bolt?

It's good to hear you say you're having fun. We just finished an 8-week rebuild of ours from the frame up. My wife and I did every bit of it ourselves, and had a great time. There are "oh shit" moments, but the joy of stepping back and looking at a finished segment is great.

About 25 bolts in now. Had to take 12 out and redrill the counter sink holes apparently they have to be a bit deeper than I originally expected.

2 questions:

What is everyone using to fill counter sink holes?

Do you drill big holes for like the steering cable before laying carpet or after?

Down to 5 bolt remaining to be installed. Should finish those up tomorrow and then check fitment and redo any not happy with.

Should have holes puttied this weekend and ready for carpet.

Still waiting on replacement siding to take fence to metal worker for adjustment to fence. Taking longer than expected to get the metal shipped.

Bolts are in.
Went to lowes for the "Best" wood puddy I could find. Realized it was bascially an expoxy so ended up getting bondo all purpose filler.

update decided I didn't want to get into mess and time constraints of epoxy so just got plain interior exterior wood putty. Kinda wish I just used wood glue and saw dust.

Great Progress!! Why did you decide to put in new carpet instead of one of the vinyl floorings that have become so popular?

As to ? why carpet over vinyl.

1. Price weighed in on it vinyl appeared to be double the price of carpet.
2. The carpet on the boat was over 20 years old so I new it worked and lasted.

Still no metal siding. Supposedly in the mail today. Here in a couple days.

Carpet stapled and trimmed. Ready for corners and start pounding on deck edge trim.
