looks like a fun project! ours is due for a make over too so this thread is inspiring.

That prop guard is pretty cool. our river gets low in areas so that might be a good idea for me.

Thanks for posting about the project. I look forward to more updates to see how it goes. I'm sure it will be really nice when complete. Thanks in advance for keeping us updated on the progress as it moves forward, and best of luck!

We are in the planing mode right now, making the final discussion on furniture, color and all the goodies that go with it, right now we are planning on power coating the fence rails and the trim piece that runs around the whole deck, I was thinking about polishing and removing the anodizing on them, but then they would add something else to polish all the time.

I couldn't see trying to keep a fence polished, that would have to be a pain in the ass, so we will match them to the new fence paneling wrap, that will give them a new look and be low maintenance.

Every thing pontoons up will be new, except for the fence frames, that's why we have to make them look new so they don't stand out like a sore thumb, pictures will be coming, next job is to get the deck off, get everything ordered and start polishing the pontoons, only thing that sucks for me in this project is I'm 40 miles away from my brother's, but thank God we have plenty of room to work in his building.

Craig had it easy he was just replacing what furniture he had, I'm converting mine from a fish n swim, with four fishing seats front and rear, to just two front fishing seats, and a lot more seating in the rear, might stick a small couch in front of the helm if it will fit.

Remember I planing this with my brother, so that always makes planing take longer, since he closer to a lot of big lakes and willing to store it in his building, I told him it's half his hoping he would spring for a newer bigger engine, but I'm not holding my breath.

Are you re-carpeting or going Vinyl? I saw some toons at the boat show with some updated Vinyl, man it looked good.

Vinyl only comes in two colors, thinking about bed coating that you can get in any color you want, if you get a bad spot in it later on, you just re-roll it, It's water and slip proof.

Get samples of the vinyl...you might change your mind when you see how durable that stuff is...

My brother said last night he wants to go carpet, I'm still pushing for vinyl of bed coat, but we will see, we supposed to be working on deciding what to order in an hour but then work jumped in the way, a customer called with a water line break, so work comes first, water bad for house

Herb, since you want no carpet and your brother wants carpet, have you considered doing the bedliner you want and then having some snap in carpet made? You would have the best of both worlds, then. You could have the carpet when wanted and no carpet when that was better, depending on how you were using the boat that day. You could pay for the bed liner and he could order the carpet. Seems like a win/win.

You could always carpet the pen area and vinyl /bedliner the stern.
I seem to get the worst mold on the stern.

Mine is all inside the pen, even my fishing seat are inside the pen, I have about a inch and half of deck outside of the pen.
