Project Miss B. Havin is Underway!

#1 Post by HoosierTOON » Mon May 06, 2013 6:46 am

Well I finally got started on my 20' pontoon rebuild this weekend since the weather decided to cooperate here in Northern Indiana. Between Saturday and Sunday, I was able to get stripped down, replaced all the aluminum cross members and replace all hardware with stainless steel, add new CCA Treated Decking with 2" Xylan Coated Deck Screws and finally glue down 20 beautiful feet of our Beauflor ShipsDeck Simulated Teak Flooring in Mahagony/Ivory.

What's the plans for the Transom/thrid log? since I see it wasn't replaced prior to laying the new deck

Picked up a new transom from a custom pontoon builder up here, the way my channels are shaped, it will allow it to easily be bolted up, even with the decking on. I decided to replace the existing one with one that was a bit bulkier, I am also pulling it towards the back of the boat a bit so that I could run a full sheet of plywood back there and not notch it for the engine.
