The plugs on top of the logs do not appear to allow access to syphon out the water. Any tips?

You could try to insert some type of tube and shopvac it out. Otherwise you might need to install drain plugs. This involves drilling and creating an opening under the waterline so I would try another way if possible.

There are drain plugs on the back. Nothing came out, but I know there's water in them. Do I need all the top plugs out too?

Try tilting the boat to the back.

If you have top plugs then the compartments may be sealed and you need to suck the water out of the top plugs

The top plugs are partially blocked by design. I can't get a 1/4" tube in there to try and pump the water out. Before we removed the top plugs we tried tilting the whole rig back using my 60" farm jack and nothing came out. So could I need to remove the top plugs and tilt it back?

that should have worked.... Do you hear water sloshing in them when moving around on the trailer?

You might need to remove top plugs to let air in so it will drain.

I found a welder on our local fishing forum. He's coming out this weekend to take a look at the pontoon. I'm still going to zinc prime and bottom paint it, after pressure testing and all leaks are sealed of course. Still considering putty repairs but only as a last ditch effort or to fill only light pitting that the welder didn't need to fix.

Giving second thoughts to the putting a screw with 5200 on it the 2 holes. That will get us through the rest of the toon season.

Also found a copper plug was in use on the top of the most corroded log.

Copper and aluminum are a bad combo. If you have actual holes they need to be welded. I would consider using the 5200 on the pitting but not an actual hole.

Definitely getting all holes welded this winter. Also, that plug is probably brass. Still not good.

I've got a portable sand blaster unit. When I prep this winter that's getting used to clean out the pits and holes. What media should I use?
